unders afters overs with capsular contracture

Hi ladies, I have cc in right breast after 15 years with silcone implants. My doc says I have a high risk of reoccurance with redo, but I'm unhappy to stay as I am? I'm thinking of going under instead of over with silicone cohesive gels. I also want to go smaller so I'll look more natural (feel too!). Advise? Thanks, Gaylin

I had cc in both breasts after 23 years. I wasn't even aware of how hard they had gotten until a Dr asked me if was uncomfortable. I had silcone overs. One had actually ruptured. Who knows for how long. I had them replaced 7/06 with saline overs. I went smaller. He used 180's filled to 210. I have cc in my left, being redone on 11/17. I believe that was the side with the rupture. Hoping for the best this time. But the other breast turned out wonderful. Looks and feels very natural having gone to a smaller size. I was very pleased with his suggestion to do that. Good luck to you.

Hey at the moment i have silicone cohesive unders had them just over 6 months now & i think i have cc, will be finding out soon. Neway i dont particulary think it makes a diffrence if you have unders or overs because your body will still heal the same.
do you have to pay for your Redo if its because of CC?

I am having to. He is charging me for the surgery suite and the new implant. But not "his" charge. So it could be worse!!!

redo afterCC: questions

Yes, I will foot the bill ($7200!!!) if I do this. I'm really unhappy with the rock hard breast but the doc says it will likely happen again. I'm wondering if you have to have the capsulectomy if you have a new pocket made. I mean, if you cut out scar tissue, the body just makes more! Experiences? Thanks, Gaylin

I've heard, through other threads here, that many women are fine after capsulectomies. You might want to also ask your PS about taking Accolate or something like that.

I just wanted to stop by and say good luck! It's nice to have someone around who's had their implants so long!

Hi Girls..
I just wanted to ask a couple of questions... I just got mine done and am very afraid of getting cc.
I am so allergic to everything that I really think I am probably going to get that too.
My question is: how often did you massage your breasts?I mean, it's only been a month for me - the first 2 weeks of massage (week 2 and 3) I was massaging 2 to 3 times a day -
Lat week I have neglected them and probably only done it about once a day, and not as long as I used to.
I guess it just gets harder and harder to do this everyday.. I was told once or twice a week would be enough - but also heard everyday for the rest of your life is what you really should be doing..
Realistically, how much massage have you done over the years, and at what point (after how many years) do you think you got cc?
Thanks! And VERY BEST OF LUCK with your re-dos.

Same here as Joy, I am pleased to see women on this forum who have had their implants for longer than 10years!

So why are you choosing the saline for your redo? Is that what your PS suggests... I am just curious since I have silicone myself. Thanks!
