bottoming out???

How do you know if you are bottoming out or if the ps made one pocket lower than the other?
My right breast is lower and when I raise my arms my right nipple is not centered on the breast.
Please can someone shed some light on this!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!

Just having one breast lower than the other does not mean you are bottoming out. It could be that your creases aren't even and maybe weren't to begin with. It could be that your PS didn't make the pockets perfectly even. Could be that one side dropped faster than the other and the other might catch up yet. Look here: http://www.justbreastimplants.com/ri...toming_out.htm for a description and some photos of bottoming out. That describes it much better than I can. If you are concerned, do talk to your PS asap. And take photos of your changes. Always good to have.

On my side that has dropped fully I notice that my nipple is not centered when I raise that arm??? I have wondered about bottoming out on that side for that very same reason. But the breast definately does not look bottomed out. I had 'droopy' breast, if you will, to start out with that were fuller at the bottom. I didn't really/want need a lift so I just equate it to the fact that my breast are the same shape but bigger. When I lift my arms, the implant stays in place (unders) and my extra skin moves up a bit causing my nipple to move up a bit......at least I hope.(0:

So, is my take right that if it happens soon after surgery it is more often the fault of the ps and the way he dissected the pocket? If it happens later it is because of the weight of the implant?
I only had mine done on Nov. 16 and a few weeks ago at an appt I pointed this out to my ps. He really didn't say a whole lot.
What do ps charge to correct this?

Off to take another photo for the records!!

I second this. If the nipple is centered when your arms are down you're OK. It's supposed to go up when you raise your arms. If you're concerned though you can start measuring the distance from your nipple to the crease, straight down. If it seems to increase over time then you might be bottoming out, if it stays about the same there's no need to worry.

A sure sign that you are bottoming out is your nipple will start facing upwards, not be centered on your breast. You will have more boob under your nipple with very little boob on top.
I have bottomed out on both breast, and had a revision to correct it.
I had ALOT of boob under my nipple, but ultimately they still looked nice, just not the way they were supposed to be.
The won't fall to your abdomen

How much did your revision cost? How soon after your BA did you have your revision? What incision did ps use?

How soon after your BA did you start to notice it? What is the cost for your revision?

What exactly do they do? Do they sew up the pocket to make it smaller? Is the revision guaranteed for a certain amount of time?

Thanks!!!

i noticed that my boobs didnt look right about 2 months after the operation, nipples were very high and i couldnt find bra that would fit well and cover my nipples. i hoped they just didnt "dropped & fluffed" properly. i also took progression photos every week, and there was a big difference between 2 weeks post op pics and 6 months post op. where other girls had their boobs looking perfectly naturally i had mine looking weird there were more boob under nipples than on top.
i phoned my PS 8 months after my op, he confirmed i had bottoming out, and he said he needs to see if they will drop any further. so i just had my second appt. nothing changed since last time, they didnt move lower or anything. and my re-do is booked now for 24 feb. he said he is going to put internal sutures and he asked me if i wanted to go bigger size, of course i wanted to he said bigger implants would fill the pockets. there is no guarantee it will not happen again. i will have to be very careful and not do any exercizes or lift anything heavy for a year at least. or i can go for overs instead of unders and there is risk of rippling..
cost - i will only pay for pre op histology tests (about $100). everything else is free.
feel free to pm me

Hi Lin,
My ps waived his fees, so i paid $1,700 in aneasthesia and OR cost. He didn't want to operate again until i was a year post op. He said he wanted to give my body time to heal and also give it enough time to build up scar tissue at the crease line so he could attach permanent sutures. I had crease incision each time. Everything looks great now, and i'm very happy

I know you asked Britney this, but thought i would answer as well

I noticed something was "off" about my breast around the 4-5 month post op mark. I didn't really know what it was, so i started looking at ba pics online, and realized i looked like the bottoming out pics. My dh still thought they looked great, i showed the girls here on the forum my pics, and 99% of them said it looked like i had bottomed out as well, so at my 5 month post op appt. my ps confirmed it, and i started wearing supportive underwires until i had my revision. He said there is no guarantee that it won't happen again, but he said he's never had a revision fail before, so that gives me a little piece of mind.

Thanks for your replies. I don't know what I would do without you girls!! I'm getting nervous but realize I better make an appt with my ps. If it bottoming out I want to know, now. If it is bottoming out i pray he'll waive some of his fees too. Don't have much to spare at this time.
