![]() | Swelling at 4 mos. post op
Hi, I am new here, and I will take a minute after I ask this to post my intro. I had breast implants and lift done on July 20 of this year. Everything went well and recovery was, not to say not painful, but it went good. Everything was good until now. Now my right breast is suddenly sore and swollen. Noticably swollen. Could anyone share some experiences or advice for being at this part of healing, 4 months, I have called my Doctor after hours number and he will see me Monday, but till then I am going to worry like heck about my newest additions. Thanks anyone who can be of help.

sweetie,im so sorry that you are in pain but try not to worry thgis could be caused by anything from cc to flu. at the moment there is nothing you can do befor you see your ps. i would take comfort from the fact that he dosent want to see you till monday im sure if he felt that panic was required he would have got you in streaight away. i hope every thing is ok

i agree that your PS knows best and that if he thinks it's alright for him to see you until monday it probably isn't as serious as it may feel... i'm sorry you're not feeling well!! is there any bruising?

Hi Carsonwife! I am too new to share a 4 month experience with you, but I do agree with Gina that if it was something to really worry about, I am sure the after hours center would have had you go right away. Also remember it can take up to a full year for your body to heal completly. So try to relax and take it easy. Please keep us informed as to what they say. |

I am going to see my ps today with some problems. My right breast is very painful and hard. My left one is bottoming out. I know how you must feel. I am 3 months out, a month before you. I too, am concerned and upset. Is'nt it sad that we wait for so long to finally do this fantasy and it turns out to be a nightmare? My right breast is not swollen, just hurts in the inner cleavage area. Someone suggested a drug named Accolate for Capsular Contracture, so instead of my doctor doing a closed capsulectomey(he's already done this once at my 8 week) I am going to ask about the medicine. I massage 4 or 5 times a day. I will let you know what he says.

well, i finally got a call from my ps nurse. she is going to squeeze me in on friday between surgeries to take a look at my boob. You know I never heard of capsular contracture before I came here..and after looking it up, I am making an educated guess that that is what it is. I mean, my boob isnt all lopsided like the picture showed, but its really firm and swollen and a little sore. But I cant go through another surgery now?!?!? My DH is in Iraq and I have two kids to take care of on my own. What am I going to do if this is what it leads to?!?!? I looked up about the accolate med, seems its shown to be decently affective...depending on the PS and it takes a while, grrrrr.....Im sooo frustrated and nervous...why is this happening...why now???? i love my new boobs and this is making me hate them.....

![]() | massage?
I read in an earlier thread from some one about CC ( I think...Kimberly?) about massage and pressure to break it down. But I also read some where that doing this voids the warranty on the implants? How does this work? Also, how much does it increase the chances of rupture( if you put this kind of pressure on them?) I think I am going to work on this until Friday, but exactly how? Do you just put your hands on opposite sides and push together? And just lay flat on your chest? OUCH!!! That kind of thing hurt pre breast augmentation, I would hate to feel it now!! Thanks again for any help

Oh, I am so sorry to hear your having complications. I thought (still unsure) that I had cc in my right breast, too. My doctor said nope he did not think that it was cc. He said that my breasts are soft and my pockets are opened up good. However when I get up in the morning my right breast feels much harder than the left. I am so used to my natural breasts feeling so soft and mushy, I guess I just thought that's how these puppies would feel. I am experiencing pain in this one, but he said that since it is my dominant arm and I use it alot in my job(I own a cleaning business(parents) to vaccum and mop, that it probably is just slow to drop and heal. It does'nt look distorted like the pictures I've seen on this site either. The left one was looking strange to me and he said that he lowered my crease on purpose to even it with my right nipple. My breasts we're uneven to begin with. It just looked a little double bubblish. He assured me it would even out. He told me to take Vitamin E 3x a day to soften up my tissues. I am a little overreacive sometimes so I just anguished over whether to go to him (just went 4 weeks ago) but I'm glad I did because now I am thinking more along the lines of this getting better instead of what am I going to have to have done. Try to relax, I know how your feeling. My ps said if it was cc it would feel hard as your kneecap. When was your surgery? Mine was Sept. 8th. My neighbor said to give things 6 full months. She used the same doctor as me. Good luck.

I will tell you what my ps did to me 4 weeks ago. He put his fist in the middle area underneath then he put his free hand flat below the fisted hand and pushed so hard that it felt like it was going to come out through my collar bone. It was take your breath away painful. It really did nothing to make my pain go away. My breast was alot harder then. Now it is still painful, getting better everyday, a little hard in the morning. He told me to squeeze at the bottom of my breast to push the implant as far into the pocket as possible. This is to keep the area opened up to loosen the tightened tissue that could be forming cc. He said nothing about rolling on the floor, but I will tell you this. One morning I was leaning on the kitchen table reaching for the paper and I slipped a little and wedged my breast up against the edge of the table, which did the same thing as pushing the implant up with my hand, but alot harder. I think I was holding back on pushing it hard myself because it hurt, but the table thing was real sturdy. I talked to the nurse at my doctor's office about having a mammogram in Feb., and she said that the implants are plenty strong enough to withstand the pressure of that. So, if that's any information you can use. |
