Unhappy Why Me???

Well just when I think nothing else could happen to me, Saturday when I was at work I was taking care of a patient who was rude from the time she walked in to the exam room. So when the Dr saw her she had ordered some tests on her so I went in to draw blood and take her xray. Well the cap to the needle fell on the floor so from a standing position I bent over and my bra insert and padding fell out on to the floor in front of her. I picked it up put it in my pocket. When I looked up I saw her reaction and out of embarresment I started to cry. I walked out and one of my nurses who was coming down the hall saw me crying followed me back to the lab. Mean time that patient who was so rude to me was standing out in the hall asking other nurses if I was a breast cancer patient. I can't believe that happened to me, as if I'm not having a hard time already dealing with it, I now have to deal with it at work.

Wednesday is my 2 week post op appt, I'm going to have to talk to him about giving me a breast implant sizer. The inserts aren't working anymore.

I'm so sorry it's affecting you at work. I hope you find something that works to stay in your bra. I hate rude people. I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. I hope things get better for you.

Hang in there...some people (rude ones) just don't get it nor do they deserve any thought...your post op is almost here and maybe you can call your PS office and advise them of what you need ahead of time...just knowing they will have it ready should make you feel better!

ANyone who would actually ask someone if you were a cancer patient has SERIOUS issues and should not be given the time of day. I know it was totally embarrassing for you, but please do not let someone as low as that get you down. Pray for that person for she is the one who needs help. R u doing the inserts to prime yourself for implants? If so, I am 2 weeks post op. I did not do inserts bc I hate all that extra crap stuffed in my bras and they(my new boobies) are easy to play up or down depending on the type of bra you wear. I am still in my surgical bra or I somedays wear a sports bra and unless I wear really tight clothes I look normal. So you don't HAVE to bother w all the extra inserts in you don;t want to hassle w it.

Red face Might help

Soooo sorry that happened! What a you-know-what! Remember I posted about going down to Florida for treatment for CC which worked for me? Well, they had this lacy bandeaux type tube thing that went OVER the treatment wrap to cover it. I bet if you got a very small and a bit too tight one of those it would help keep the goods where they belong! The place I went to was Aspen and the lacywrap was there, but I am pretty sure they have a website. Just a thought. It was pretty and came in black, too. Anything helps to get through this crap we didn't count on, right?

Hope you are better, soon!!!

mean patient

That is awful! I can't believe someone would be hurtful like that. I am so sorry you are having this problem, but the idea about the lacywrap is a good one. I had Aspen also and it worked. I live in Boca Raton so it wasn't that I had to fly down here, but I would have done that to avoid surgery! Anyway, hope time goes by quickly and you are able to be your NEW self again!!

I had it happen in highschool before I got my breast augmentation. We were in drama class goofing around and I use to wear the insert because I was so flat. Well we were playing twister and both of them fell out. I thought I would be embarrassed but im a female and like everyone have things I would like to change about by body so I picked them up and put them back in and went on about my business. No one ever said a word about it either. Dont be embarrassed for something you cant control and dont let someone else make you feel that way. It will all be over soon and you will be back to your normal self(I read your other thread). Keep your head up

(((HUGS))) Hon, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I don't understand how people can be so thoughtless of other peoples feelings. My mother always told me, think twice before you speak. I've always lived by this moral; I wish others had the same morals taught to them.

I am soooo sorry this happened to you. But I am glad you decided to post your experience so that that ladies here could help you through this. That patient was just thoughtless. Do not let her rent any space in your brain!

I'm sorry to hear of this thoughtless person. How rude of her. She should've just kept her mouth shut.

OOH, I am so sorry you had to go through that! What a mean person. You know it doesn't matter if you were a cancer patient or not, it was none of her business, PERIOD. Have you tried sewing it into your bra? I did that with mine in a swimsuit before my breast augmentation and it worked perfect(and I didn't have to worry about them slipping and sliding around when I moved. ) Sending you some Luv and hoping your next implant won't give you any trouble.

Ouch, that sucks. That happened to me one time in gym class, so I started wearing a tight sports bra over my bra with inserts so they wouldn't move around. Just wear the inserts at home and not to work. Or just tell everyone why your doing that, screw them! Be proud!

I'm sorry. That really stinks. She was just a nasty mean person anyway.
I had my car audio installer going through my truck the other day and found my inserts in the car(dont remember why they were there). He told DH, but I didn't care what he thinks anyway. Hes not one to be judging me.

*hugs* sorry to hear about this happening to you darling. Some people are just completely tactless and thoughtless. That woman clearly was a ..........(cant type it out). But please dont let her get you down. Some people clearly lead miserable lives and as the saying goes "misery loves company." She needs help, because it was completely out of line for her to ask if you were a cancer patient, that is none of her business, how dare she!!!! Just talk to your PS and see if there is any way they can help you so that this mishap doesnt happen again. *hugs*
