Inflammation

I will be two weeks post op tomorrow. I had inframmamorry incisions (please excuse my spelling) and one week post op my right incision began bleeding. I went to my ps he took out the stitches looked around a bit and restitched. There wasn't really any swelling, no redness or bruising. I had began taking Ibulprofen instead of percocet that sat because monday i was returning to work so he felt maybe it had thinned out my blood too much. He gave me darvocet to take instead. Mon night and tues the bleeding continued, not much bleeding more seeping. Wed I woke up and the whole area under my breast was swollen. I called and went in that evening he took out the stitches again looked around went a little deeper irrigated restitched. The whole time I've had no bruising, redness, or puss. I felt the swelling might have been from what he had done on monday. He put me back on antibiotic. Thurs the swelling went down some. He rechecked said looked ok. Bleeding had stopped. Friday I swelled slightly more but my other breast swelled slightly in same area (stitches on left had been removed). But i bled slightly. I worked all week so maybe I used the muscles too much, overdid it too soon causing the inflammation? I've rested all weekend and the inflammation has remained the same. Has anyone had a similar experience? I don't want my surgeon to reopen again. How long did inflammation last? My bras are killing me digging into inflammation. I just need some peace of mind I tend to be a worry wart. Thanks.

Hi Juicy! I am new to this so bare with me. I am going on 3 weeks post op. on Tuesday and still wearing my surgical bra and gauze on my incisions. I had mine done through the crease, same as yours. I have textured round silicone overs 365cc. They still feel hard and swollen and cuts are still staining gauze but just slightly. It's more of spotting. My ps still wants me to keep stitches he only took the corner ones out and once they are completely healed meaning gauze being completely clean w/ no spotting, he will then pull my inner stitches out. For the meantime he said to put a bit of neosporin on both inicisions. He made it seem I have nothing to worry about. I was on antibiotics for 2 1/2 weeks, so that should help and even taking vitamin E can help. call your ps to see if this can help w/closing incisions. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Its nice to hear someone else with a similar situation. I have been changing the dressing twice daily cleaning with peroxide putting neosporin on. He also put me back on antibiotic after reopening the second time. i shouldve mentioned that. So looks like i'm doing the right thing. Today the swelling felt somewhat better and the muscles were less sore. I go back thursday and they are supposed to take the rest of the stitches out. As of today it's still bleeding so I guess we'll see. Good luck with yours!
