scar revision...

Hello, I am new to this thread, but I'm a little desperate. I had my breast augmentation in may of 07 and for the most part I am happy about my breats. I was a 32AA and am now a 34D. I had my implant incision under the nipple, b/c this was the best choice for me (so my doctor said) and I am now left with nasty scars. I was under the impression that I would have small little scars like a line, but mine are "railroad tracks" as another doctor put it. There is scar tissue under the the scar, and big stitches scars. I had the stitches on the outside, and was told they were dissovable. They didnt seem to go away for like 2 months. I have been back to the docs a few times and he hasnt said much about them, just kept telling me to put more scar cream on it. I went to a new doctor closer to home this time, for a second opinion. He was shocked. He said the scar is really long, and the stitches could have been placed on the inside to make sure I would receive those nasty stitch scars. I have scheduled to have a scar revision with him in a few weeks. I am so frustrated that I have to go through this, when it could have been done right the first time. I am curious if anyone has had this problem. My new doc said he hasnt seen anything like this. Its making me terribly depressed and I just cant wait to get it fixed. PLEASE let me know if youve had this problem, or even HEARD about this!!

I just had circumareolar scar revision 6 days ago. When I had my consultation with my PS, he told me I needed a lift, and he performed the Benilli lift on me and that sounds like what you also had. Long before the operation - at the consultation - he informed me that with this procedure, it was highly likely that there would be residual scarring and puckering, and that after a healing period of at least 6 months, he would do a scar revision to make it all look better. So, I was forewarned, and knew this may be necessary.

That said, I'm only 6 days post-op, but already I can see the difference even though it's not completely healed. He told me that within a month it should be all healed and look like it's supposed to look.

Thanks Tiger for getting back to me. I didnt have any kind of a lift, just a normal breast augmentation. So I wasnt expecting such serious scars. My new doc told me that he can do the scar revision right in his office without going under. So I am wondering if you went under for yours? I'm just worried about my girls, I dont want anything to happen to them!

I am so sorry to hear about your scars.When i had one of my c-sections i got a keloid scar and it was very red, bumpy and ugly and the surgeon said it was just my bad luck and he would remove it the next time and thankfully it was fine the following two scars are normal but i know how upsetting it can be as bad scars are so unsightly.Best of luck with your revision.x
