Pre-op today... PS wants to ADD more cc's!

I had my pre-op apt today for my 2nd pocket revision on my rightie that's a week from tomorrow. I have always thought that the rightie was just a tad bit smaller than the leftie, with both sets of implants, but I didn't want to ask about adding more cc's with this second pocket revision, because I'm sure that part of the reason it stretched out again is because I upsized (both sides) 140cc's last time. So, after going back & forth with whether or not to bring it up today, I decided not to. But my PS did!! He said he wants to add an extra 40-60cc's because he's noticed that the rightie has been smaller all along, even before implants. I am shocked. Of course, I didn't tell him no... but man, I sure don't want it to stretch out all over again! I think he is a perfectionist. He wants to do a scar revision on the leftie, even though I don't think it's really all that bad. (Hubby thinks the scar revision is a good idea, though.) So, I'm feeling a little anxious and pretty excited all at the same time. Tick tock, tick tock, it's almost time!

He said it stretched because I had minimal tissue on that side to begin with. The first time, I noticed the implant shifting laterally at about 4 months, and the second time it shifted laterally, as well as lower, enough for me to notice by about 6 months. I am going to do everything possible to protect it & support it for at least the first 4-6 months, so hopefully it won't stretch out again.

I guess the key is to provide as much support as possible while it heals. Do you have the right support bras? I am having similiar surgery soon. I am about to go shopping for better sports bras. I even thought of wearing 2-one over the other. You Dr. knows what's best. I know you must be excited, good luck!

Good luck!

My first thought though? He wants more money. The cc's was his idea as is a scar revision that you dont deem necessary. Are you paying for any of this? If not, then sweet, get all you can, lol...if so, do what you feel is necessary, not what he wants.

Yes, he is very conscientious, and I really appreciate that so much more after reading how rude and aloof some of the docs have been according to some of the girls that have posted here.

Well, one thing that I didn't do after going bigger and getting it fixed last year was simply to wear underwire bras. It's pretty common knowledge to not wear underwires for a few months after initially getting implants so that they can drop properly. But, I've since learned that after a pocket revision for a case like mine, or bottoming out, that it is as equally important to wear underwires until the scar tissue for the repaired crease is fully healed. So, that is my plan! I will wear underwires no matter how uncomfortable they get. And, Good Luck to you as well!!

He is only charging me $500 for the whole surgery, which is really just to pay for the anesthesia and the attending nurse. He is waiving his fee and the surgery center fee. (for comparison, last year for the pocket revision & two new bigger implants, it was $2,500, and the initial surgery two years ago was $5,000). I requested a brand new implant which I am willing to pay for to minimize any infection risks and to avoid invalidating the warranty, so that is an extra $450, but I think it is well worth it!

I sure hope everything goes and comes out just how you want it. I know part of the risk of having a breast augmentation is possible, if not definite, surgery in my future. But, I sure hope I don't have to have 3 in such a short time like you did. But, if it gives me the results I want and it's all safe, then I guess it's ok!!

Again, I hope it all works out and everything goes according to plan.

Thank you!!! I actually had my breast augmentation last year only 16 days after my hysterectomy, while I was still on medical leave from work. The hyst'o was a breeze, so I had about a whole week in between surgeries where I felt pretty good (but kind of tired). Nevertheless, after last year I swore up & down that I was "never having surgery again!". I can't believe I'm going to do it again so soon, either... But this time is the last time for a long time!! If it stretches out again, I'll deal with it.
