Little "Poll" About Complications - Pls Input :)

Hello ladies.

I am putting this poll here instead of in the Polls forum b/c I think more people will respond to it here. Plus, this isn't a multiple-choice poll, it's anecdotal and I think it will generate more conversations between posters.

Thanks in advance for sharing your input!

I'd like to know 2 things:

1. What complication(s) did you experience;

and

2. Do you think that if YOU OR YOUR PS had done something differently, either Pre-or Post- breast augmentation, that the complication(s) could have been prevented/avoided?

For example: Let's say you bottomed out. If you feel as if there's nothing you or your PS could've done to prevent it, then say so. However, maybe you think that if you hadn't gone so big, then it wouldn't have happened. Or maybe you think that if you had chosen a different plastic surgeon, then your complication could've been prevented. Or maybe you feel that if you'd worn an underwire bra, it could've been prevented.

Well to the 1st question.. I bottomed out almost 4 weeks after sugery!!
2nd part... I have read that if you bottom out early after surgery it most likely and over dissected pocket.. However if you tissue quality is poor or you have a larger implant that can increase your risks....I will never know!!

mmmm in hind sight I would have demanded a lift and a smaller implants... I did the whole" I trust my PS and I let him make the decision in the OR wether to lift or not" and I told him that I wanted no more than 390cc ( cause I thought that would be big) he put 390 in and then he said he saw too much rippling so he o/f to 450... now I have big boobs that I didn't want and they r a bit saggy.. so I have to have another surgery if I truely want to be happy...
The quick fix was the revsion for my bottoming out although it is much better than before.. I should have done the lift and smaller implant at that time.. But my DH and PS felt if my boobs were even I would get over the big bit... They are both wrong, still too big!!

1. What complication(s) did you experience; double bubble from the very beginning (I've had three surgeries) also a rupture in between my 2nd and 3rd surgery.

and

2. Do you think that if YOU OR YOUR PS had done something differently, either Pre-or Post- breast augmentation, that the complication(s) could have been prevented/avoided?
The rupture, I think, was unavoidable....don't even know how it happened except maybe my years with heavy weight training (competitive bodybuilder) defiantly might have caused the rupture over long term (my PS agrees). The double bubble...not sure if it could have been prevented...I was pretty small to begin with with hardly any lower pole....maybe tried going over the muscle...but it really wasn't the PS fault...just lousy genetics in the boob area.

YES! to the second question...and I have CC on one side right now for the first question. Had I known I was supposed to massage my girls, I would have instead of avoiding them like the plague and making my hubby do the same so we wouldn't pop them (they are silicone gel, not cohesive). For the past 7.5 years I could not sleep on my stomach, lay on my stomach in a tanning bed, anything that put pressure on my implants because I was afraid to pop them and spring a silicone leak. My PS never told me to touch them at all, and the first thing I was asked when I saw a new Surgeon was
"have you been massaging them?". Oh well, live and learn I guess, at least I am getting the cohesives and a larger size with my re-do, of course about $5500-6,000 on top of what I already spent...oh well. Still excited for the new set!

1. one side did not drop all the way, had a capsulotomy to release it

2. honestly, I think too often we blame the PS when in reality they do the first half of the job and then it's up to our bodies to do the second half (healing, dropping, ACCEPTING the implant). I really think that you can have the best PS in the world do everything 100% correctly and still have issues. So I've never blamed him.
The only thing that I'd have done differently is that I'd have tried the strap sooner.
