Internal Sutures Are Painful...Normal??

I am one week post-op and have internal sutures toward the midline. I was generally sore for the first week, but now that I am feeling better, I am noticing a sharper pain on only the left side right where I would imagine the sutures to be. It is very tender to the touch. Is this normal?

Is this scar tissue forming? And if so is it normal for scar tissue to be painful and for how long?

Help...any advice would be awesome!

I had them put in 9 months ago and it was painful/uncomfortable for about a month only on my left boob. Main time it hurt is when I would lay in bed and want to stretch my arm above my head. I felt like I was ripping something and found that I would hold where I thought they were when I reached for anything. The pain does go away so hang in there!

I had internal sutures in my lower right pocket. I am now about 3 weeks post op and am still very tender there. Overall my breasts feel pretty good, but that area is still sore. My PS said that area will take longer to heal, but I was on pain meds for over 2 weeks, primarily just for that spot...so I know what you're going through!

Just to add to what the other ladies said, you are probably getting more feeling back and those dang nerves are doing their job now. I still have occasional pains at the bottom where my incisions are. Call your ps if you are really worried. Best wishes!!

I had a lot of internal sutures for my repair and they never hurt. . . the only time I could feel them would be if I did some stretching and I could feel pulling on the sutures, but it wouldnt really hurt. . Is the sharp pain constant or just for a brief time occasionally?? If its not constant it is probably nerve regeneration. I had a lot of that in my right side for a couple weeks post, especially at night.

I noticed that mine were sore as well up until about Thursday when I had some spitters removed. I found and this applying to me only, that on wk 3 I was really only sore were the spitters were, but they still hadn't popped up yet so I didn't know why I was so sore in these spots(and there were small bumps there) until last Monday. Once they reared their ugly head and I had them removed I am much less sore on my incision site. Boobs are still tender and sore but the incisions are not.

i had my one week post op today and i have been having this exact problem! the ps explained that the pulling, searing pain is caused by the internal sutures is very normal and i should be sure to stretch my muscles by lifting my arms above my head and doing my compression massage as the more the muscles stretch out the less they will pull on the sutures!!! (i have to take my painkillers in order to do the stretches etc but it really does help) hope that helps!

I am almost 4 weeks post op and I am still having this. It feels a little better every day. It has sucked pretty bad, but the time seems to have passed quickly, even though I know I have been uncomfortable for a long while now. Oh the things we do for good boobies. Lol
