Pocket revision for not dropping.

Is there anyone who has had a pocket revision for "not dropping"? If so, What was the process? The surgery, outcome, etc. Would you please share with me as I am currently having this problem. Thank-you.

hey girl, I had a pocket revision 4 months ago for my rightie. So far so good. The PS widened the pocket at the outside/bottom corner. Send a FR request and you can see my pocket revision album pic.

Sometimes the pockets aren't made wide enough or your body starts to heal much more quickly than your muscle will allow the implant to drop. In your pics it does look like perhaps the inside/bottom corners were not made big (our round) enough. If you do have a revision, it will be a much simpler procedure, not any where near as painful and a faster healing time too. What has your PS suggested?

Thanks Wishful! I go see my PS tomorrow so I will let you know what he says. I sent you a FR. How long after your surgery was your revision done?

hey girl-- what is involved in a pocket revision- do you get put to sleep? how long does the surgery take? is the pain enough to where you need prescription paid meds?

thanks for the answers! i am wondering if my rightie is going to need the pocket widened, i was concerned it has not dropped enough, and have been wondering if the implant is too wide for the pocket (the reason i think this is it was overfilled, and is wider than my left implant).

thanks!

If a revision is made, who winds up paying for it? I feel that it is the ps's responsibility to make your breast even. I am going through something similar, where one breast is smaller than the other. It has been 5 months and they have not changed. I feel the ps should absorb all costs, including the OR fees since he screwed up.

It is reasonable to pay if you are unhappy with size but if it is his screw up then what.

Any thoughts of experiences would be great and very helpful.

My revision was done at 9 months, I would've done it sooner but I had to wait for an approval from our medical system (they pay for 'complications'). It didn't look that bad so I didn't mind waiting, I didn't have to spend a dime that way! What did your PS say?

I did take a look at your pics and it looks to me like he didn't make the pockets big enough or round enough along the inner/lower pole (if that makes sense) or perhaps the pocket if 'there' but the implants are simply hung up. If you did have a redo you might want to consider wider implants

update

So an update for you, my PS said that I'll most likely have to have a pocket revision...we just decided to give them another couple of months to drop just in case. I dont want to jump into surgery again just yet. But we both HIGHLY doubt that they will be where they are supposed to be by Dec. So it sounds like a revision early in the new year.
It will cost me $700 which is the anesthetic fee. If I want to switch out implants at that time, I pay for the cost of new implants as well(conscidering mods for some extra width).
I also asked about if a revision voids the Mentor Warranty and he said he didn't know of any such thing happening.
This is not PS "screwup",it's a complication of breast augmentation surgery. Not dropping is a case of the muscles taking too long to release the implant, and by then the pocket is healed closed, or you're just a fast healer. (Hope I got this right for everyone) It is discussed in your consult as one of the complications along with CC and bottoming out, assemetry and everything else.
The PS said the surgery is a lot less evasive and healing time is quicker...but I still have to go under. He also said that he will have to make the incision a bit bigger because of having to work his way down to open up the pocket instead of up this time.
So I hope this helps someone out there, because everyone out there has helped me SO SO much. Thank-you ladies!

Well wishing you luck and the best since as we all know the end result of a breast augmentation is supposed to be better boobs and not boobs we do not like so I hope it all works out for you its so frustrating whether we get a complication like I did with the cc or not dropping properly like you one just never knows when ones decides to get this kind of surgery how its going to turn out and how much stress its going to put on our lives each day as we try to cope with how it has not gone as planned. I hope if you end up having surgery which I know you are pretty sure you will that is turns out great next time around for you HUGS
