Ok ladies Im one year post op from my redo and I now have cc. My ps is going in to fix it and the 7th so please wish me luck!!! Im getting the surgery to fix it the hard massage was to much for me it hurt really bad.

Im wondering if any of you how have had the surgery if the cc comes back or if its stays gone. Im not changing my implants just cleaning everything out!!! Im not scared for the surgery just that its going to look right (be all the way fixed) after and that it could come back.

I'm sorry to hear that you have CC!

Not sure if you know my story, but I had grade IV capsule contracture in my right breast only. I had a capsulectomy and I'm now over 13 months post my revision and it did not come back. Hope that gives you hope.

My second PS thinks it was probably developing from the first day since my first breast augmentation due to a hematoma and/or infection. I tend to agree. I personally think I got a staph infection during my first surgery, but that's just a guess.

wow there just seems to be a run on cc on JBI right now every time I log on to complications there is someone else I am so sorry to hear you have it of course you know I am fighting it in my right and so I am not help in anwering the above ? but wonder as well since my right seems to be getting worse again so I do wonder if surgery is going to be my only option I see my PS again on nov good luck on the 7th and I certainly hope it never returns for you the dreaded CC

So sorry to hear about your pain, I hope it gets better soon! I was really surprised to read that you could get CC that long after surgery.

WE can get CC at any time after a breast augmentation its just more common to occur in the first 6 months but it can always happen never think you are out of danger it can strike at any time years down the road.

Ok well I just got it confirmed that it was cc I went to the ps about 3 months ago and he did not really look at it then but told me to come back if it did not get any better. But when I had my redo done he had troubles getting the old implant out of the left breast and it caused some problems so I think that it really was starting from day one of my redo and it did not start bothering me until more recently. I started noticeing it tighten up and look smaller then the other one and start to look weird. But was not sure what was going on then it just kept getting worse so I started looking in CC and sure enough that is what it souned like. My ps did not tell me what grade I am but I would guess it 3 or 4.

Thanks to all of you ladies for all of your suport and to every one else with CC I wish you all luck as well. It really bites but we have to keep our heads held high and know that we can fix it!!!! Sending everyone a ((((((hug)))))) with CC and to those who are just nice enough to think and care about those of us with it!!!

Yes, it is true. You can get CC at anytime. I think I read a post on here that said they had gotten CC after 7 years.

VisionQuest was right...it's more likely in the first few months, but it can happen at any time. From my time on the forum, I've heard it has happened to some with older ruptured/leaking implants. For some, pregnancy and/or breastfeeding may have contributed to developing CC. I've also heard you have to be careful if you are prone to UTIs...something about that type of infection makes CC more likely (not that anyone who gets a UTI is going to get CC). Don't quote me on the last one, even though it was told to me by a physician.

Yes it can happen at any time you have implants you just have to go and read up on CC

Yes I got CC after breast feeding at about 8 to 9 years of having my implants. It can occur at anytime. Once you get it it is hard to get rid of.

I got cc after 4 years when I had saline implants in. I then changed to silicone gel and only my right one has cc now! I'm thinking of getting polyurethane foam covered implants to reduce the risk of developing it again. Maybe you could try these implants?

Thank you everything went well so far. I still have the same implants in. Part of my problem was that the implant got turn some how. But he turned it back and cleaned out the cc so Im keeping my fingers crossed and hope that it gone for good. Thank you all for thinking of me. And to those of you who have cc and going to have surgery for it good luck to all of you also. Well Im going to relax some more. Its hard to typpe while on pain meds and your head is spining

Hi! Yes you can get CC after any time...I got it at 7.5 years! :L
It's all good though, now that I have it I can get the upgrade I always wanted but hubby wasn't too happy to let me get...now I get what I always wanted (hopefully)...nice big boobies that are closer together with the cohesive silicone I thought I got in the first place!

I then changed to silicone gel and only my right one has cc now! I'm thinking of getting polyurethane foam covered implants to reduce the risk of developing it again.
