![]() | Still no feeling
Hi girls, I had my breast augmentation almost 3 months ago 11/29/06. I have feeling in only the tops of my breasts and my left nipple area. Otherwise everything else has no feeling at all. Nothing on the sides or bottom. When I run my finger over my incisions it feels strange, because I can feel it with my finger, but can't feel my finger on my breast. Is this normal???? I am getting scared that the feeling will never come back. Has anyone else waited this long or longer for the feeling to return? mousiet |

My PS says it's not even time to worry about numbness until at least six months, and feeling can come back up to a year later. Hang in there!

I am also numb, but I only had my breast augmentation a month ago. I have however had previous surgeries and even though I can't exactly recall when I got total feeling back, I can teel you that it seemed to take forever!! It will eventually come back. You know the "motto" around here......patience, patience, patience. lol ~Shelly~

the bottom part of both breast took well over 6-8 months to come back. And yes it is true, it can take up to a year. Hang in there!!

I had my surgery less than a week ago but all of my stuff is numb! Also a few times when I was taped up id wake up with numb pinky fingers (wierd, right?). I wonder if some people just take a long time to get feeling back. Just realized my middle finger was numb on one side on my left hand from a dog bite a few years ago and. . . It's normal now! Wow- when did that thing get fixed? I'm serious! It scares the crap out of me to imagine that i may not feel my nipples ever again either. I can only feel the exterior of my freakishly tight new boobies. even tho i'm early out i can really empathize My doc was surprised that i had no sensation and was like really? you can't feel this? and i was like !WHAT! isn't numbness normal (silently to myself) and put on a brave face and said maybe it's already coming back but i'm not so sure. . . Then he went on to mumble somthing about hmmmm this was a fairly modest augmentation and no sensation hmmmm. hopefully we can get some of that back hmmmmm. That was yesterday and ive been like a zombie crying wreck ever since. You're not alone! |

Well, I was numb until yesterday when my nipples turned on like a dang forest fire. Now I have shooting pains through both of my boobs and I can't stand even my t-shirt to touch my nipples. So, I am not sure which is worse. But, as I have read, most all problems - numbness, pain, etc. - resolve with time. So I guess we just have to be patient. (Not one of my virtues!!) |

I'm 7 1/2 months out and I have MOST of my feeling back, but not 100% - so close though. My PS said it's not a concern until 1 year. And you have to remember that some women don't get it back at all. Sorry, but you're just gonna have to wait! |

It takes some women a year or more to get their feeling back. I wouldn't get too freaked out at this point. (I know, easier said than done, lol.) After my last redo, I was pretty much numb over 2/3 of my breasts, then the feeling seemed to come back almost overnight. Hang in there. |

Poor baby - I feel for you. I went through that. I went to the drug store and bought every numbing medicine they had. Anbesol, Solarcaine, etc. Helped a little, but not much. I ended up taping little gauze squares over my nipples until that passed - actually it was only my left - right numb. That was very uncomforable - just the slightest brush of material drove me nuts. But, that has passed. I also had those shooting pains you talk of. I thought that was the nerves regenerating, but since I don't have feeling to speak of on the right, not sure what that was about. It is also gone, so all is well there. I am not freaking out about the numbness, just was looking for people to share their experience with that. I have feeling in the "right places" on the left, so can live without the rest if I have to. I would rather have my beautiful new boobies. Thanks you all for sharing your experiences. | |

I have the same numbness, but I was just LOL thinking of when that one hollywood star, Terra Reid had just had her boobs done and she was on the red carpet and her entire boob was hanging out of her dress!! Her agent was frantic trying to cover her up and she was like whats going on?!?!? Poor thing, I'm so numb it could happen to me right now and I would have no idea!!

i still have numbness under my breasts and i can't stand touching it as i know i'm supposed to feel it. however, i have noticed that it's coming back via the shooting pains i get every now and again and i'm feeling the incisions a little more when i massage those w/ moisturizer every night.
