2 1/2 weeks out and ready for a redo...seriously disappointed.

I had my breast augmentation 2 weeks 4 days ago. I did 375cc silicone implants. I am 5'6, 130 lbs and I was a small, saggy 'B' cup before. My right side has always been smaller than my left and for some reason I didn't even ask my PS about this until the day of surgery. She said they were only 1 cent. off crease to nipple and she was not concerned.

My breasts have been obviously different in size since I saw them over 2 weeks ago. At my 1 week appointment my PS said to not even look at them anymore. She was very sweet but she of course gave me the same line every PS gives, "give them time." So, I am agonizingly giving them time until I see her again at 6 weeks. I am a mess though. I feel like I/she really messed this up. I know things heal differently, but swelling/"falling" - wise they are identical. But, the left side is a whole cup size off. There is a serious mass discrepancy. I am a solid inch off crease to nipple and when I measure my breast (like you would for a bra fitting) it is another inch off, a full cup size.

I feel like this is NOT a healing thing, but a mistake made upfront by not trying to overcompensate for the smaller breast. Plus, cup size wise, I was pretty conservative, probably more than I would be if I did it again. I have a "pectra" which is a chest deformity (my chest wall sinks in not poke out), so even my bigger breast really doesn't look all that big on me. Which complicates my feelings on things. The left is just "ok" in size and right, being a whole size different is way too small for me.

I am so sad, this breast augmentation was a HUGE deal for me/treat for myself and I am kind of an emotional mess. I will wait until the 6 week mark, because it needs to be done, but I have little confidence this will be better enough. You can't gain mass. I am scared that even after I wait the 3 more weeks my PS will just blow me off and make me wait more to fix it.

Sorry to unload, but any advice or encouragement? No one in real life, except dh even know I did this.

Julie

I am so so sorry I know how you feel it is such an awful feeling.. I knew there was something off with my breast right away too... I know the standard answer Just wait does suck.. I can remember going home and just sobbing, it was so emotional and I had no one to talk to either... I must say that waiting the 6 months like my PS suggested to see how everything drops and settles was purely a PIA.. But it gave me time to investigate and become more educated on how to fix my complications. I am know 8 months post op and finally gonna get the redo... Just hang in there and know you can come on JBI and get support it does get better!!!

I can completely empathize with you as I am in the same place you are. My left side was smaller and higher before my breast augmentation. My PS used 50 more cc's in my left side and lowered the left crease. However, the left crease has not seemed to budge and my left side is about 1/2 inch smaller. I talked with my PS about this at my 6 week post op appointment and was told to wait 6 months because things could change...the skin could loosen and let the crease lower. The skin on my left side is tight and this is why it isn't lowering. My PS also told me to stop looking and measuring. And he said if things still look the same way in December we will discuss a revision. I am now just past 3 months post op and things haven't changed. Its hard to spend all of this money and not look the way you want to look and then to have to need another surgery is a pain as well. Hang in there, you will get used to it and it won't be as upsetting as it is now. You are still pretty early on post op which means you are also more emotional at this point. Also, unless you would require emergency surgery, a good PS won't operate on you until 6 months post op due to scar tissue...probably one of the reasons why they tell us to give it time because they aren't going to operate anyway...so it really is a waiting game. I presented my information to Dr. Mele in the ask a plastic surgeon forum and he totally agreed with what my PS has told me and Dr. Mele also said no surgery until at least 6 months.

Hi jujumama I am really sorry you are feeling this way. Did you have under or over the muscle? Could it be, that if you are under, that the right musle is a little tighter, and theirfore making the the size appear even smaller at this time? Just trying to look at a positive angle for you. I really am sorry you are not overly excited about your new girls

easier said then done but hang in there!! your only 2weeks out! they have so much more changing to do over the next few months. and one of your breasts are probably more advanced in the healing proccess then the other. im only a month post op and one is dropping and the other is still high. i know it seems like they will never change but someone wise once said, 'give it time.'
if after 6months there is no difference then its time to go back to your PS.

Thanks so much for the replies. You all are very sweet and it is nice to "hear" from people who have been there/done that.

We did go under the muscle and just a couple days ago a small glimmer of hopefulness snuck in and I wondered about that muscle being tighter since I am am right handed. I still feel the discrepancy is too much to be made up and I am still extremely disappointed, but we will just wait and see I guess.

I think I would be more hopeful that this would work itself out if my breasts were the same size before. Is there anyone out there who had one breast smaller before surgery that their PS chose not to put a bigger implant in? I think I come from the frame of mind that it was a mistake to not go bigger in that side in the first place and now the big size discrepancy is just feeding that.

Thank you so much again!

Julie

I feel the same way. I'm 2 weeks Post op and my left is smaller than the right. My right is sitting higher, but I actually like it better than my left. It is fuller/rounder and bigger than the other. My left is super soft/jiggly (too jiggly almost) and I can feel the implant very obviously.

My lefty was smaller to being with and my PS only put in 5 more CCs in it and I feel he should have put more. I told him I wanted FULL looking breasts and wanted a DD cup. My left looks more like a freaking C cup and I am so devestated. Like you, this is something I have wanted for years and finally did it only to feel so disappointed afterwards just totally sucks.

Right after surgery I loved them because they were both big and full and awesome, now after only 2 weeks I want a re-do already.

I hope things continue to improve as I am sure they will. I am in the same boat there at 11 weeks out. I am playing the waiting game, knowing in my heart there is something that time is not going to fix but I will follow the rules and wait lol

I was smaller on the right and supposed to have the larger implant put in there. Lo and behold, immediately after the surgery the PS tells me that he put the larger implant in the left because that is what looked correct during the surgery. Needless to say my boobs are off in size and the right is too small. I will be going in for a correction early in the new year (he is only making me pay the cost of the implant). I'm not overly upset about this as I would have had a 275 on my right and 300 on my left. After the correction, i will have a 300 on my left and 325 on my right. I am not too upset as I feel like I got to "try them on" and can now go up a little - I think I will be very happy after the correction as I love my left boob!

Mine are also one bigger than the other, I first started off as my left bigger than my right by a whole cup size
My right one is still higher than my left one. its frusterating
they do however look great in a bra.
but I am being patient. he said they will be changing over 3-6 months
the waiting game sucks. I know
I have another appt when I get home from vacation.
hang in there!
