![]() | bottoming Out
I had repair surgery today for bottoming out. Although I know that it is early I have concerns already. The bottom of my right breast (the one repaired) is flat. Just wondering if anyone else who had this surgery experienced any of these problems...perhaps it is normal. He told me that he shortened the capsule to give me back my breast fold. Of course I am worried. Maybe tomorrow when I get a chance I will add a picture, but it looks pretty ugly.... Any info would be helpful! |

I am almost 6 months out from bottom out repair. The bottom remains a bit flat, but that is fine since the girl is up where she belongs. Yours should soften up with time, but may always be a bit flat. It'll all be good in the long run, as long as your repair holds! Best wishes.

![]() | Bottoming Out Repair
This morning I was walking across the floor and I felt a pop...my heart sank...I am still not sure what is going on inside, but the flat spot has left and my breast is round on the bottom again. I can't imagine that everything let go the first day after surgery, but it is hard to say. I am very worried and nervous to move! I was told not to put my hands above my head for the first couple of weeks, so I don't dare look. Prior to surgery, when I put my hands over my head that is where you could really see it had bottomed out. I am experience a bit of burning mainly when I move, but I am not sure if this is normal or not. How long did you have to lay low after your repair? |

I was told to take it easy for a month, then PS said to go back to usual gradually. PS did use a dermal replacement product to hold mine in place, so that may make me "different" from others having repairs. I actually didn't go back to full activity for 2 months, because I'm a big chicken. I'm sorry you are having problems.

![]() | Bottoming Out Repair
I feel like I have so many questions, but after your first repair what were some of the signs that you were bottoming out again? Was it painful? I only felt the one pop (inside) yesterday which scared me, but I have not had any pain or discomfort since. I am scared to death to move! I am a runner so it is really killing me to sit, but if I have to sit for the next two months it will be worth it. The thing I am worried about is the fact that I was pushed up and flattened out on the bottom, and after that stitch let go (the pop) the breast went round on the bottom again, but it is even with the other side (so far). Did you feel any of your stitches letting go, or any burning sensation. The only burning I did experience is when the pop happened yesterday, but it was only for a few seconds. Thanks for your words of encouragement...I have not told my friends or family about my augmentation so I have no one to vent to, except my husband, and I am sure he gets tired of me worrying. lol |

![]() | Bottoming Out
Things are still going well, but we all know it is early yet. I have not read where anyone else had their capsule made smaller. The doctor said that he shortened the capsule, which would give me extra support, and he put the internal sutures in. He said he went deep into the ribs where there is thicker material to attach the stitches. He did not guarantee me that it would hold but he did say he would be very surprised if I had further problems. He was rated one of the top three plastic surgeons in Canada a few years ago, so I feel I have one of the best doctors. I had the surgery on Friday, and I will be returning to work tomorrow, Tuesday. Does anyone feel I am returning to work to soon. I feel good, I am just worried about moving around too much. Thanks for all the replies and the encouraging words. Feel free finallydidit to ask questions. How long after your surgery before you noticed you had a problem? |

When I had my bottoming out repair my PS cut and rolled the capsule to make a support for under the breast, I think that is what you are talking about. I also looked flattened on the bottom and side as my PS also did suture along my arm pit laterally too. my breast did smooth out over time but.. Sorry to say despite not lifting my arm over my head or so much as a brisk walk for 10 weeks my revision did not hold..I could tell just by A.. tha pain it throbed and hurt in the crease still does to this day and B.. visual I look excatly how i did before surgery That is my reality.. I hope yours holds just take it easy and keep your boobs real supported that is the best you can do. |

I'm glad you all mentioned the "not raising the arms overhead". My redo is mid November so I'm going to do all of my Christmas decorating before then. I would hate to go through the holidays with a bare house and no tree!!

![]() | Bottoming Out
I wish I would have had time to get one picture of the redo before that stitch broke. It was only flat for about 16 hours and then it fell. I am wondering if something was caught that should not have been...it looked pretty bad. The Dr. said I could take my bra off to shower, but I showered with it on and changed into a dry one after trying to be cautious. I do believe I must of had had the same repair as you Catnip...that is what he also did to me, I just didn't describe it as well, and he also stitched up the side. I guess with each of us it is a wait and see game. One of the reasons that I chose the date I did was so I could decorate for Christmas, even though I will likely be scared to raise my arm. My doctor is retiring in June so I hope all my surgery is completed by then. However, I think I will be paying the bill for the rest of my life. lol |

![]() | Bottoming Out Repair Update
As I mentioned in the first post, I had a repair for bottoming out on Oct. 16. The very next morning I felt a stitch let go (it felt like a spring) and the flat part of my breast came back down. I went for my check up on Wed., Oct. 28 (two wks after surgery) and the part I referred to as being flat, the doctor called it a pucker. The stitch that broke was in his words the stick that made it perfect. He said instead of them being "100 percent they are only 90 percent perfect." When I hunch my shoulders I think the breast is still lower than the other one. It is so hard to tell until I can raise my arms above my head. Catnip, even though your repair did not hold did the side where he stitched it stay in place? I am wondering if some of the repair can hold. The waiting is so hard and with every move I feel like I have messed something up. How long should I wait until putting my hand over my head. I lift my arm some I just do not reach very high. Does everyone wait 6 weeks before raising their arm over their head. Also, does it matter if you wear a sports bra or a good underwire bra as long as you have good support? I am tired of sports bras. I am trying to be positive but I already know things are only 90 percent.... My implants are only 290cc gels...so they are not that heavy. Thanks for listening to me ramble/vent. Sorry this is so long...If you have any words of advise pass them along!! Thanks ![]() ps. I will try to get some photos on my profile soon. |

Those of you who had bottoming out...can you please send me a message and tell me the timeframe of when it happened after your initial breast augmentation. Also..what it felt like. I feel like I have no shelf and my implant is going to slide right down my ribs. It burns a little underneath too. I am 7 months post breast augmentation and freaking out. When I sleep at night...its the worst. It hurts in the morning the most. Help please
