I know I sound like a broken record HELP

I am now 4 months post surgery. I am so low. I cant look in the mirror, i cant wear sexy clothes for hubby. he is getting so upset also and wishes we go back to before all of this. I cry almost every day ( the only days I dont cry are the days i cover up and not look). I brought in photos to my surgeon before surgery of what I wanted to look like after. Not a super model but the shape and size. I was most concerned and said I wanted round fake look. He picked the implants to suit the outcome I wanted. I love me lift, my breasts are so much more perky and fuller. So there are good things to say! But the overall shape and roundness is not there. I have public photo albums and need HONEST comments that I can bring to my surgeon next week when i see him. I really know there is something wrong either size, type or placement but there is something wrong.

Ok in all honesty. No they dont look totally right, do they look bad, NOPE. It looks like an overdissected pocket medially to me. Like there is no definition to your sternum. I really dont know what else to say cuz I know how you feel because I went through it and still kind of am.

I feel for you.. I think it is a great improvement and I see you agree with that too... I too am way guilty of this but If I compare my self to a A to D cup result I get depressed I will never look like that.. But if I look at ladies who had similar droopy breast I don't feel so bad... I don't think there is anythng wrong with your breast at all, I think your only 4 months out and you are still adjusting to the new you..

I don't think your breasts look terrible, but I definitely see what your talking about. Yours are very close together, and almost not "fake-looking" enough, if that makes any sense. I don't blame you for being upset with all the money you've spent. When I looked at your clothed album a week or two ago, I said they looked youthful, but I can see what you mean w/o clothes. Again, they DO NOT look terrible. They just don't look like the pic you brought in. I wish you luck in getting to a place where you are happy.

The only thing keep you from the round results is your cleavage, maybe thats your anatomy but I think if your PS did some sutures in the pocket to make it smaller you could see the roundness of the implant.

Thank you .. i will write that down to bring next week. I am hoping it is as simple as a pocket revision and not having to take the implants out and start all over again

I agree with the others in that they don't look bad as such, but have the potential to look better. As Jamsmak said, they look too close, like the pockets are too close in the centre, not enough definition (I feel your pain with this, trust me). I think for boobs to look natural (or even "really good") there needs to be a significant enough 'upside down V' between/underneath the breasts. There needs to be flat skin on the sternum in the middle (even if only a little bit) otherwise they can look a tad funky (again - I say this because this is the problem I have).

It looks as if they might be a bit low, as you say. I am a fan of high and perky with natural 'hang' underneath, so again I understand what you mean there. I think maybe your surgeon had that picture in his head when he dissected your tissue - her boobs, while lovely, are quite low on her chest too. Again, I think mine were dissected too low and hence there isn't a lot of 'hang' at the bottom, which annoys the life out of me. How hard is this crap to get right, honestly???!!

I think the pockets probably need to be made smaller and the crease raised a tad, if that's possible, as well as some suturing down the middle to "separate" them a bit. I have read that raising creases is much harder (obviously) than lowering them though.

Happen to just be reading about Symmastia he definition for it is as follows:

usually a result of over-dissection of the tissues in the cleavage area. This over-dissection is sometimes done intentionally in hopes of creating or increasing cleavage - other times, its unintentional. Symmastia is commonly referred to as "breadloafing", or "kissing implants", or "uniboob". With this condition, the implants actually meet in the middle of the chest, giving the appearance of one breast, instead of two. Symmastia seems to be more prevalent among thin women, mainly due to the fact that thin women usually have less tissue and/or fat covering the sternum. Sometimes, the surgeon will attempt to release some of these tissues, in order to get the implants closer together. It is the least common of all cosmetic breast augmentation complications.

Could it be this? Maybe ask your PS

I really thought this from day 1. IF you look at my progression photos of my post op I so look like i have Symmastia. The swelling has gone down and looks slightly better but i still feel i have some sort of symmastia but at this point i have no idea what is causing the appearance i have. Of course i am leary that the surgeon will be completely honest with me next week. I have felt boobie blues throughout but I think this is the lowest i have felt in my life

Seems to me I agree with the above posts that you just do not have definition between your breasts is the main thing to me that makes them look not quite the way you would prefer them too. I wish you the best next week I also see my ps next week to discuss things I am not happy about.

Can I just say that you don't necessarily need to have the whole 'uniboob' situation going on to qualify as having symmastia. There is mild symmastia (which is what I have) and then there's the meeting of the implants thing which is VERY unusual. I think the implants "bit too close" thing is more common than we'd like to think. To the uneducated eye, my boobs look okay. There's some funkiness (probably more evident to me than anyone else - unless they knew what they were looking for), but I still have symmastia. I could *probably* live with them the way they are, but choose not to, and am having a repair in January.

When I get pissed and annoyed and the "why me's" with this whole thing, I try to remind myself that the difference between a good breast augmentation and a bad breast augmentation is a couple of tiny milimeters of the surgeon's knife - it's probably fairly easy to make them "too close". There is so much room for error in this - the people performing it are human, you know?

When anyone mentions symmastia people recoil in horror because true "uniboob" symmastia is very hard to correct and is one of the biggest challenges for a surgeon undertaking revisionary surgery. But, mild symmastia, which you may or may not have a case of, and while still challenging, is often repaired successfully. It is not the end of the world.

You know - you might be the type that just has a 'fleshy cleavage', if that makes sense. I think a good way to tell if you have any form of symmastia is to push your boobs up as if you had the world's best push up bra on. Like from the underneath, at the outer corners so to speak. If the middle rises right up, and you can see the implants are coming together under the skin, then there's a good chance you've got it, however mild. That was the defining moment for me - in the shower one night, pushed them together like that and I just knew.

I really think the pocket was just over dissected. But to me it does look like a mild case of symmastia as well but if the arent moving together when pushed then no. Maybe send your pics to Dr. Dewire which is really good with symmastia and ask him, he is very honest and it may give you some ideas and then you dont go into the PS office with him treating you like you have no clue. I know I asked some other surgeons what could be wrong so I had some ideas and then I went into my new PS office and I told him how to fix it LOL. He did what I said except one thing, I told him to put an implant in with .2 cm more projection into my smaller side but he didnt because he thought just dropping it would fix it but it did not so now on Jan 7th we are setting up another surgery to put that implant in LOL. I am ok with that though. Just try to get some answers so you can tell him whats what ok hun!!! Best of luck

thank you jamsak04. i always value your opionions. All the feedback has been so good and everyone has really taken the time to hepl me. I appreciate this very much. I am glad i will be able to go in with the photos i brought the first time with the surgeons writing all over them (shwoing me how he would acheive it) and bring in all the feedback i have gotten on here. I hope it will be something that can be fixed and i am not stuck with this mess forever! Jamsmak04 do you think here in alberta it would be covered for these types of corrections

Lea69 Libra Visionquest unsure THANK YOU THANK YOU ! I am writing notes and getting myself prepared for this next appointment. My hubby is going with me becasue i am too emotional right now to clearly and firmly say that i am not happy. I dont want to go and the surgeon say there is nothing he can do or it is just me! I really want some help.

Sending photos to Dr DeWire is an excellent idea. I did that. But not front on photos, I bent forward and took a photo of my cleavage with like my arms stretched forward at head level (I must have looked like a total loopy doing it LOL), and also took a photo from underneath, as in if someone was lying on the floor underneath me and took the photo. One day I'll post these photos (it's too depressing at the moment), but you can really see a lot more in photos than in a mirror or whatever. When I take photos of mine from underneath they definitely move towards the middle more than they should. I just know from looking at the photos that it's not right and Dr DeWire confirmed my concerns. He was very quick in replying and extremely helpful (he wants my business, I know, but some PSs wouldn't get back that quickly or be that forthcoming with information I don't believe).

But if they don't move together underneath, you probably don't have symmastia. But take some photos like I did, it's very telling either way.
