Genie will become famous soon enough
Oh gosh sweetheart. I hope you're doing ok! That has to be terrible to get ur new boobies and then have them removed. I am terrified of this as I am having a re-do Jan 4th to go bigger. Part of me thinks that I should just feel lucky that I have good boobs & didn't get an infection the first time around & stay with the size I have. I hope everything goes good for you! We're all here for a shoulder if you need one!!

Wink

A warm hello to all my girlies! It's been a week and a half since explant and I'm doing great! The infection is completely gone and the drains are out. I'm so so so glad I didn't throw any of my old clothes out haha. I'm back to normal I can wear regular clothes now (have been wearing zipped hoodies for the longest time hehe). I'm also back at work and able to wear my bullet proof vest again lol. I slept for the first time on my belly last nite in a month and a half! It was amazing!
It was the best decision for me and I'm glad I made the right choice. I'll heal for about 3 months and then start discussing putting the girls back in. Someone said in an earlier post about getting antibiotics and drains put in right after surgery to avoid everything that happened before. That's an excellent idea and I will most certainly mention it to my doc! Thank u everyone for being so supportive. For all of the other girls having complications my thoughts and prayers r with you. I hope it all works out for u guys! Just keep in mind that explant is not the end of the world. I know because Im making it through!

Jasmine, So glad you are doing better and recovering well. Also glad that you are holding up your attitude! Most of us wore padded bras before anyway, so what is the big deal for another few months! I have heard this is a very good way for your breasts to heal and to be sure you won't have the reocurring problem! Hang in there, this too shall pass!

Hi ladies...Im a newbie here (See intro) and this site has been an inspiration for me. Ive read numerous stories and kinda put a light at the end of the tunnel for me.
My breast augmentation was performed Oct 5th...so Im a month post op, but its been a nightmare. Sunday 3 weeks ago, I had this yellowish/brownish liquid pouring out of my righty incision. I called my doc and saw him the next day. You guessed it...infection. The following day I was scheduled for surgery first thing to irrigate yadda yadda yadda....my doc also placed a drain tube. I was put on antibiotics for the infection...it was staph, but wasnt sure which one because the culture hasnt came back. Anyway a week later I went back into the office just to make sure everything was going right, and the morning of my appt, my lefty was doing the exact same thing.....so....the following day...surgery on the left side. Same case , irrigation and tube. I was mortified! SO now I sit here with tubes hanging out of the girls and I just dont know whats next. The good news is during surgery on lefty the doc peaked at the right incision and told me after surgery that the infection appears to be going away...phewww.
For some odd reason (even with the infection) my doc has NOT mentioned ex-plant....I wonder why because surely that is the worst case right? As far as I know now (both incision are still covered and Im too scared to peek) they r ok. The left incision has a little dried blood on the tape but from what ive read that could be normal. The right incision does weep at times but nowhere near as bad as before....itll do it for a few min then stop. Im thinking it could be normal but then again its not because isnt that the purpose of the drain.
Anyway, im prepared for the worst...if I have to ex-plant, I think I can deal with it, but I want that to be the absolute last resort (who wouldnt).
Oh yeah I forgot to mention when my incisions were uncovered, both implants were exposed, the doc just cleaned, irrigated, and reclosed them.
My appt for my check up is Tues and it cant get here soon enough. I just want them to tell me I'm healing fine now, the infection is gone, and it was just all a bump in the road. Wishful thinking right haha. Im ready to get these tubes out, thats for sure! I dont have a significant other so showering with these things are ridiculous. Dont laugh, but ive built my own contraption and have been showering with my bulbs hooked to my panties so i can use both hands hahahaha....it works.
Thanks for listening girls...it was kinda like a vent thing. My friends dont know what im going through so as much as they mean to me, they just dont understand. SOme of their responses are "some people arent meant to have big boobs"....or..."maybe it wasnt meant to be". Give me a break, every woman deserves a nice set of ta-ta's.
I'll end my whining now lol, thanks for listening.

Hey girl,
So sorry you are having a hard time, but sometimes beauty is pain. I’m sure you are going to have a very nice result… hope the doctor was understanding by your frustrations… You’re a tough cookie! Happy healing…. Keep us posted!!
p.s. true that we all deserve a nice set of ta-tas!

Oh hon so sorry you had to explant. But, you are correct, and your health is #1. It sounds like you did all that you could. Personally, if it were me, I'd give it more like 6 months before I did anything. Maybe start putting things in motion at 3 months?? Do you think you picked up the infection during surgery? I have heard of that happening.

I hope you continue to be infection-free and glad to hear that you are feeling so much better.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I had infection in one breast and three additional surgeries the same month for drains and an explant of one breast. This was in JULY! I have had one implant since JULY! ): Sometimes I wish I just had them both out.

I got so frusterated I went off my BCPs and ended up pregnant last month. I thought- well, it's meant to be then. I thought I'd just deal with the one implant until after the baby came and I'd make up my mind of what to do next. Sadly, I miscarried- so I'm getting my breast augmentation next month. I'm very very nervous about a repeat. Of course, my PS accidently ruptured my implant when putting a drain in and that's why it was explanted.

I go back Dec. 18 for the new one to be added. It has been a very very trying experience for something you thought would bring you all good feelings.

You sound like a tough chick. Hang it there! Good luck with whatever you choose to do! Boobs are nice, but beauty is truly within.

Sorry to hear about the explant but i must say i admire ur super positive attitute. You put ur health and being a mother (not being able to hug ur child) above everything else which is totally awesome of you. If you are up to it i'd say give it one last shot if u still want a breast augmentation i'd investigate if it coulda been contracted in surgery maybe look into another office?

im so sorry that you had to go through all that. big hugs!!! i hope the recovery goes well this time and you feel better soon.

i was wondering if your dr gave you antibiotics at all before and right after your surgery? my ps had me on antibiotics in my IV an hour before surgery and then after till i went home and then i had pills for like a week to prevent anything. maybe if you decide to go for it again if they didnt do this last time you can ask about it? i dont know my ps said that they found this very helpful in preventing infection.

again i hope you feel better soon... and welcome to JBI! =)

I am sorry to hear about your awful experience but I have to say your attitude is amazing. A positive outlook helps to make any experience a bit more bearable. I hope your next breast augmentation goes smoothly and you get some beautiful boobs...you sure do deserve them!
