Oh gosh sweetheart. I hope you're doing ok! That has to be terrible to get ur new boobies and then have them removed. I am terrified of this as I am having a re-do Jan 4th to go bigger. Part of me thinks that I should just feel lucky that I have good boobs & didn't get an infection the first time around & stay with the size I have. I hope everything goes good for you! We're all here for a shoulder if you need one!!

A warm hello to all my girlies! It's been a week and a half since explant and I'm doing great! The infection is completely gone and the drains are out. I'm so so so glad I didn't throw any of my old clothes out haha. I'm back to normal I can wear regular clothes now (have been wearing zipped hoodies for the longest time hehe). I'm also back at work and able to wear my bullet proof vest again lol. I slept for the first time on my belly last nite in a month and a half! It was amazing! It was the best decision for me and I'm glad I made the right choice. I'll heal for about 3 months and then start discussing putting the girls back in. Someone said in an earlier post about getting antibiotics and drains put in right after surgery to avoid everything that happened before. That's an excellent idea and I will most certainly mention it to my doc! Thank u everyone for being so supportive. For all of the other girls having complications my thoughts and prayers r with you. I hope it all works out for u guys! Just keep in mind that explant is not the end of the world. I know because Im making it through! |

Jasmine, So glad you are doing better and recovering well. Also glad that you are holding up your attitude! Most of us wore padded bras before anyway, so what is the big deal for another few months! I have heard this is a very good way for your breasts to heal and to be sure you won't have the reocurring problem! Hang in there, this too shall pass!

Oh hon so sorry you had to explant. But, you are correct, and your health is #1. It sounds like you did all that you could. Personally, if it were me, I'd give it more like 6 months before I did anything. Maybe start putting things in motion at 3 months?? Do you think you picked up the infection during surgery? I have heard of that happening. I hope you continue to be infection-free and glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. |

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I had infection in one breast and three additional surgeries the same month for drains and an explant of one breast. This was in JULY! I have had one implant since JULY! ): Sometimes I wish I just had them both out. I got so frusterated I went off my BCPs and ended up pregnant last month. I thought- well, it's meant to be then. I thought I'd just deal with the one implant until after the baby came and I'd make up my mind of what to do next. Sadly, I miscarried- so I'm getting my breast augmentation next month. I'm very very nervous about a repeat. Of course, my PS accidently ruptured my implant when putting a drain in and that's why it was explanted. I go back Dec. 18 for the new one to be added. It has been a very very trying experience for something you thought would bring you all good feelings. You sound like a tough chick. Hang it there! Good luck with whatever you choose to do! Boobs are nice, but beauty is truly within.

Sorry to hear about the explant but i must say i admire ur super positive attitute. You put ur health and being a mother (not being able to hug ur child) above everything else which is totally awesome of you. If you are up to it i'd say give it one last shot if u still want a breast augmentation i'd investigate if it coulda been contracted in surgery maybe look into another office?

![]() | im so sorry that you had to go through all that. big hugs!!! i hope the recovery goes well this time and you feel better soon. i was wondering if your dr gave you antibiotics at all before and right after your surgery? my ps had me on antibiotics in my IV an hour before surgery and then after till i went home and then i had pills for like a week to prevent anything. maybe if you decide to go for it again if they didnt do this last time you can ask about it? i dont know my ps said that they found this very helpful in preventing infection. again i hope you feel better soon... and welcome to JBI! =) |
