Hematoma :(

Just when I thought I was going to get thru this without any issues...
I wound up back in the hospital on Thursday night to drain a hematoma. Now I'm a nervous wreck - I'm so afraid that I'm going to have more problems. Anyone have a hematoma and have a good outcome once it was resolved??

I'm going back to the PS tommorow to get my drain out & I'm hoping he only has good news for me. Cross your fingers for me ladies!

I don't have any specific knowledge to give you, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through this. This whole process can be scary. It sounds like you're on top of it and addressed it quickly, so that makes for a better prognosis.

I'm wishing you the best, crossing my fingers and hoping you get good news!

I'm sorry and I hope this will be the last complication. I know my boyfriend had one after he had surgery because he didn't realize that Excedrin contained Aspirin..

I did a quick search and found http://breastcancer.about.com/od/mam...p/hematoma.htm

Do you think something you may have taken had Aspirin in it?

I had a hematoma with my second c-section and it was not something I'll share with you, however, it's not too bad and once it's over, it's all healed and nothing more will come of it.

I wish you luck and the drain is seriously your BFF right now.

Hey girl.. (((hugs)))

I also had a hemotoma. I wrote about it here...
http://www.justbreastimplants.com/fo...-hematoma.html

It was a quick ( and very inconvenient)fix and the drain tube came out last monday- No other problems, and I consider my recovery ( minus the hematoma blip) to be going AWESOME!

Chin up- stay positive, and heal quickly

Just read about your experience, so glad everything turned out well! It's definitely a nerve wracking time. What a lot to go thru 2 surgeries in one day! Mine was 7 days post-op so I feel like I've gone back in time with the recovery and all. And the hematoma recovery has been much harder for me than the initial augmentation. I did get the drain removed today so that was a relief Mine was also on the left side and strangely the left looks smaller than the right now that the swelling has gone down. I'm thinking that the muscle is holding onto the left and it is appearing smaller.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the link! I don't think I took anything with aspirin in it, I'll have to go and read the labels to double check. I've been careful but I guess these things just happen sometimes. The PS did tell me today not to take aspirin or ibupropen products for now because it could cause bleeding. I was also told not to massage until my next appt on Friday.

So good to hear that you're doing well! Seems like it's not that common so I'm relieved to see a few girls with the same issue and things working out! Strange how my left looks smaller too - my husband thinks the implant is just sitting higher and tighter than my right one.

I had a hematoma too. Just make sure it starts to soften after the swelling and soreness go down, cause there is a possibility of CC after a hematoma. If it doesnt soften up, have your doctor monitor it. Mine did turn into CC. It eventually stopped hurting, but it never got soft, and now it got very hard and I have CC. Just a warning of caution.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

My righty had a hematoma and it healed very quickly after the second surgery. In fact, my PS was VERY happy with how it healed. It actually dropped and fluffed faster than lefty, go figure. Good luck!
