![]() | Tear Drop/Anatomicals
I was just wandering if anyone has had any problems with their tear drop in plants? I am four weeks post surgery and i am terrified of mine turning. My sister had round ones about 6 years ago and went mad when she found out i had tear drop because they are more risky. But my PS said that tear drop would be better for me because i dont have much height in my chest- its very short and round ones would look too high on me. I trusted her. But now Im worrying that I may have made the wrong decision.

did u get texttured implants??? If so then you should have no dramas, I have 515cc text anatoms and as they are textured the muscle grips onto the implant and ll not rotate (my ps uses only textured implants for this reason.) hope that helps |

Im not sure- I hope so now though! I did raise my concerns with my PS and she seemed very confident that I would be fine. I just wish I had asked more about what type of implants she was putting in me- I didnt realise I had so many questions and concerns until afterwards! Thanks for your reply- it has eased my mind a bit =)

I have a friend who got teardrop 4 years ago and has had no issue! Our doc stopped using them cuz of the turning, but hers are good! She wanted round but the PS said she didnt have enough of a breast plate (or whatever) to fit round. I'm sure you will be fine, just research things that can cause turning maybe?? And obviously avoid them |

It's my understanding that ALL anatomical implants are textured for this reason. They can flip, but typically it's due to someone that's active in sports like diving/surfing, etc... try not to worry about something that might happen, but most likely won't. Even if they do, it can be fixed!

I also believe the anatomicals only come textured for that reason. I have anatomicals and I work out...run, lift weights and have no problem. Like previously said you shouldn't worry about something that " might " happen. I think if it was a very common thing with these shaped implants they wouldn't use them. Plus there are not many stories about implants rotating round or anatomical Enjoy!

I just got anatomicals also, they are all textured from what I understand as well. It is possible for them to rotate, not very common though. I wouldn't worry about it now, if it happens you will know and the Dr. will have to go in and adjust the pocket that has been created.

I asked my PS about this as soon as he mentioned he only uses anatomical, his response was that they only rotate if a surgeon makes the pocket too big.

2 years out as of the end of March and thus far no issues with turning, flipping, rotating etc. I lead a pretty normal life in what I do, not a big sports person, but I have moved furniture around like crazy (we moved). Try not to stress yourself.

No issues at all at one year out! my PS clearly said that if they are implanted right nothing will happen. Plus he also assured me that they simply cant rotate inside a small breast bc there just isnt space for that. i feel safe with mine, make sure your PS has experience with antomicals and you should be fine

hey love, I don't want to worry you but thought u should know all sides. I am 6 months post op and have my revision scheduled this Tuesday. I have textured anatomicals under and have problems with my right implant (no problems with the left tho!). I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with my right one and my surgeon said he wont really know exactly untill he does the surgery and can see but I think (and my surgeon thinks its possible as well) that the right implant has rotated. He also thinks its too big. It is sitting up higher and more fuller up the top than the left (although it isnt that noticeable to other ppl unless I point it out). It feels like it is constantly pushing against my chest wall, especially when exercising and flexing and I think it feels like it has rotated too. But, when I think about it I always felt as though there was something wrong with it from the start, just hoped it was part of recovery. This really annoys me if it has in fact rotated as like most of the girls have said, my suregon told me they wont rotate unless the pocket is made too big when I initially raised concern about anatomical. When I asked him about that now, he said something along the lines of there is always that 1% chance that it can. hmm. Anyway, just to let u know that I also had tuberous breast deformity so I had very constricted tissue to begin with, so I'd assume I would have more chance of complications (had to release the contstricted tissue, lower the crease etc). Anyway, sorry if this makes you worried! Just thought u'd like to here another side. But this is not to say I regret getting anatomicals! Complete opposite actually. I am very happy that I chose to go with them and hopefully after this surgery everything will be good. I was going for a very natural look and that is exactly what I got (minus the issues with the right!). I know someone who had tuberous breast deformity and got breast augmentation as well but went for the round and hers look great but not as natural. Which is fine if thats the look ur going for, but having tuberous breasts I just wanted natural. Everyone I have told that I have breast implants have said that they had no idea at all And I personally love them and think they look great. Also, as I had a high chest wall (sorry, not sure what its called lol but hopefully u get what I mean), I think the round would have looked unnatural and too high up. I wouldn't worry yourself over it now, just take it easy and let yourself recover (I know this is hard!) A lot of girls have them and have not had any problems Happy to answer any questions if u have any!

Would any of you anatomical ladies like to comment on how the D&F works with anatomical implants? I need mine to drop more into the pocket but they already look kind of low on my chest and I am only 2 weeks post op. What exactly will they do from here? I am desperately trying to hear more from anatomical girls so I can relax about this and hear about how other girls look at different stages. Thanks! |

Hey, The only really noticeable thing I can think of is that they lost a lot of fulness in the top and looked a lot more like the tear drop shape (were quite round to begin with). I'd have to say mine also got a bit smaller if anything once the sweling had gone down and they settled a bit. Hard to say exactly as I kind of forget what they looked like to begin because they change so much but thats the most noticeable change. HTH |

Thanks, When did your swelling go down? I don't want to lose too much size. I am 2 weeks out with 360cc unders. Don't really think I am too swollen, a little high I guess, but they do not appear too round. Kind of when I raise my arms and they seem like they buldge into my arm pit!! Do you have unders? When did you have your BA? Did you notice they filled out and dropped to the bottom of your breast? |

hey, Yeah I had unders about 7 months ago. I wish I could be more helpful but I cant even remember around what time they dropped as it was very gradual. Plus I had tuberous breast deformity and so when I got my surgery done my surgeon said I had to have stitches in place for 3 weeks to keep the implants down so recovery would have been a bit different. I think it was prob a few weeks before the swelling had gone down but they were still very full up top. Just had a look at my week p/o pics (I only took up to 9 days! Really regretting it now wish I had taken more photos just got lazy and my camera wasnt taking the best photos ) and they have definntly rounded out at the bottom and are more fuller. I am a 12C and only got 240cc's, it may have just been they looked smaller after the swelling went down. Sorry if I wasnt very helpful! x |

Thanks again for your response! It's ok, everyone has their own story anyway about their recovery. Are you happy with them now? Did they fill out in the bottom? |

No probs I am happy with them because compared to what I had to begin with they look 110%! But if u read my first post on this topic I've actually had complications with my left and am going for a revision on Tuesday The right looks great tho :P n hopefully after Tuesday they both will! But even with the complications I still think they look pretty great and really natural.Good luck with ur recovery (i'm gonna be going thru it again very soon unfortunately...), sent an FR |
