3rd BA to beat capsular contracture and I cant get Accolate in the UK!!!!!

Hi,

I'm due to have my 3rd breast augmentation on 26th October as I have constant problems with CC. I'm going back to Thailand for my surgery but Accolate does not appear to be avaialble anywhere in the country. I have spoken to my doctor here in the UK and she is not happy to give me a prescription even though I suffer from asthma and take inhalers regularly. Accolate is after all an asthma preventative!!!!!

Can anyone recommend anything else which may help me as I am so afraid of getting CC again.

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

I lived with it the first time round for a few years then had a re-do but went under rather than over. This time I have I am just over a year from my last re-do and its not only the CC I have trouble with but the fact that they are unders.

I totally hate the feeling of unders and even if I didnt have CC again would 100% get the re-do.

My friend has managed to track down a pharmacy that sells singulair in bangkok so she is going to get me some so I can start taking it straight away.

Have you had trouble with CC?

yes at 6 months post op I was diagnosed with CC. I had surgery 3 wks ago and my boobs look alot better. I'm on Accolate and I take Vitamin E as well. Is Singulair the same as Accolate? I'm sorry you don't like unders; why is that, out of curiosity?

Hi,

Singulair works the same as accolate it just has a slightly different active ingrediant. They are both used for asthma and work in the same way.

What dose etc of vitamin E are you taking. I have seen lots of posts about vitamin E on here so I will probably take it too as I am sure I will probably end up with CC again if I dont try and do somethign to prevent it.

I seem to have a very tight chest and whenever I move my right arm I feel my muscle pulling tight against the impant. Also if I tense my chest I can feel the same tightness but across my whole front and I just hate the feeling of having something under there. I had surgery to open up the pockets and stretch the muscle a little earlier this year but it just didnt work so I am glad to be going back to overs even if they do have a tendancy to look a little stuck on at times.

Hope youre recovering well and there are no signs off CC coming back.

Suz

I still have that stuck on look with unders! I think that's the HP tho. I'm taking one 400 IU natural Vitamin E a day. I don't know if it helps but my PS said go ahead and take it so why not? Good on you for scoring the singulair. I hope you're going to be okay and keep me posted!

What was your experience of getting the surgery in Thailand? What about language barrier? Do you have contact person there? I also have problem with CC. My right breast feels like a baseball. Any advise? You can also email me through my profile. Thanks,Gaylin

How far post-op are you? Have you talked to your surgeon about possibly having CC?

Newly or fairly newly available are a polyeurathane (if thats how you spell it) coated implants. These also seem to be called 'Super fury brazilians' they have a capsular contracture rate of less then 1%.
The drawback with these similar but to a further degree then textured implants is that with the thicker outside of the implant they tend to be a little bit firmer then the smooth implants. But if it stopped your CC then it'd be worth it in my opinion. Hope this helps.
