Large indent where scar is on left breast...

Okay so besides not being as big as I had asked for, I now have another problem. When my DH was taking my progession pics this evening he mentioned that when I put my arms up the left breast looks like it has an indent at the scar line (I had an Areola incision).

Do you think my scar tissue has attached itself to the implant or ? It doesn't hurt but it is unsightly if I lift my arm even slightly. I know of one other girl on this forum who had something similar but I don't believe her post was answered.

Can anyone help me understand why I have this? I'm freaking even more now.

I have left a msg for my PS's secretary to see about getting an appt in a couple of weeks to talk about the indent and also the lack of Post Boob size. My PS is 6 hrs away so I would need to travel.

I think this is pretty common, actually. Whenever my chest muscles flex the scar indents a little where the scar tissue has attached. You can massage the scar really hard to break up the scar tissue- that is what my PS has me do.

My PS's receptionist booked me in on May 9th to see whats going on with the indent and my lack of boob size. My original appt wasn't until mid June so I will have to wait to find out. Either way I'll let you know. Thanks for the support.

Cheers!

Now I've been moved to May 23rd due to a schedule conflict. That's okay though as long as I know I am seeing him about this in the next 2 months!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that on my right breast where the scars are (I had crease) it was always more 'Tucked Up' almost like a little dent. When I went for my post-op he said this is fine just to try and massage the implant down a little on that breast as it just needed to drop a little more which in turn would smooth it out. It has worked and is now almost perfect. I hope that this helps as looking at your BA date you had yours about the same time as me, but I did have overs so if you had unders it would probably take a little longer to settle. Good luck, keep us posted.

I don't think that your scar tissue should be attached to your implants b/c you have smooth implants. Do you have any pics?

yes... i have the same problem. when i raise my left arm or when i flex my chest muscles i get an indent at my incision (like someone is poking me on my areola) my ps said it's scar tissue that adhered to my muscle... he said going in to fix it greatly increases chances of getting cc... i don't quite know how to massage it out because it's in a weird spot... i have pics if you give me your private email address i will send them to you... please let me know by private message if you learn anything that can help this problem... i noticed it through my t-shirt the other day

I have same problem, and am now seeing the indent in right boob without even lifting the arm up at all. Very concerned about this and am massaging like crazy, but it seems to have gotten worse in the past 2 days so maybe massaging is not the right thing to do. Any ideas? I will not go through the rest of my life with it looking like this, even though I know it's early right now, don't like it.....very concerned.

I have actually been noticing the same problem, looks kind of weird. It seems to be getting worse daily. I may have to contact my PS to see what he has to say. It seems that it is a common occurance in aerola/unders .. I'm not sure what can be done.

I just started a new thread on an update for this question- oops, should have posted here!

They're basically telling me to massage the incisions more frequently, and gave me some cortisone injections, and have patience. They also said that it's not that common but it does happen- I can't imagine that it IS that common because nobody would have areola incisions with unders if that were the case, and that's how my PS prefers to do it.

Definitely address this with your PS so that they can tell you what to do to improve whether it's massage, injections, revision surgery which as I posted is supposed to be a minor event. (but something that I would definitely like to avoid!)

Indention on areola scar

Hey I just wanted to know how the indention is and have you done anything about it, I need help cause this has ruined my selfesteem, if you do have a pic send it to me I want to see if it looks like mine and I can send you my pic. Does it look like its being pulled in and is there thick scar tissue underneath attached to the indention let me know, thats how mine is and you can notice it all the time when standing up but if I stick my chest out it looks normal I think I might have to get bigger implants or over the muscle... Thanks

It's normal. As the scar fades the indention will as well. The last three times that I had mine worked on I had and indention and it faded every time.
