Hooray, they're here
My surgery was scheduled for 8:45am on Friday May 18. I of course got there 30min early being so excited and all. We started on all the paperwork, waited for a while, then went back to the back room to try on the sizers one more time. PS wrote on my skin which size went where because I was a bit lopsided. Then the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me. He saw that I was an operating room nurse so we chatted for a while. He was way cool. He took me back to the OR suite, took my glasses, and the nurse guided me to the table.(I'm blind as a bat) I layed down on the table with my sweat bottoms and shoes still on. (weird) (We don't let people were shoes to surgery and usually not bottoms either). He started my IV and gave me versed, then I was out. The next thing I remember was trying to walk out to the car and then I was home. My PS even called my that night to see how I was doing. Cool!!! I immediately started icing (actually frozed corning) took two lortab and went to bed again. The pain has been nothing that I was expecting. Just feels like I have done a thousand pushups. I'm having a bit of crackling and popping, but I think that's just the air moving around. Hubby's been great, doing laundry, running kids around, dinner.
For anyone whos surgery is still coming up, so far the best advice I have is work on your abdominal muscles. I did and I think this has helped alot with getting out of bed and everything. And also, for the first few days take those pain meds rountinely. If you wait till your in a lot of pain it will take longer to get control of it. Ice has helped alot too. Well, Ive rambled on enough Thank everybody for their comments and support. |

Congratulations! My PS called to check on me, too. Isn't that a nice touch? I thought it was very thoughtfull. Take it easy and get lots of rest.
