Wow, what a roller coaster!! I will share what I can remember. My surgery was Friday morning, I did take a valuim the night before, so I did sleep some. Was at the surgery center at 7:30 am. They put me in a room to change into a gown, hat and plastic booties, (remember to bring socks, it was COLD in there) then they covered me with a hot blanket. Gave me an IV, and I waited only about 15 min. they walked me into the or, laid me on the table, my doc came in and sat by my side rubbing my arm while they gave me the gas (how sweet is that) the next thing i remember was having a weird dream and forgetting where I was. I started hearing noises and one of the nurses said "darci stay on your back for us ok" then it all came back to me. I immediately felt like a mac truck was sitting on my chest and I had a hard time breathing. The pain was actually pretty intense. They have me valium and gosh I can't remember the name of the other drug. but they didn't do much. they did tell me if I was having sharp pain the drugs would help, but mine was total pressure and there wasn't much they could do about that. So soon after that they wanted me to go to the bathroom because they wouldn't release me until I had. So I got into the wheelchair and sat on the pot for what seemed like forever, nothing would come out.
Then they had to catheterize (sp?) me. Major bummer. Funny tho, I couldn't feel anything in my bladder, but they filled a bad to 900 cc of urine!!!
The ride home was pretty rough, any bump or turn etc. hurt pretty bad. Once I got home and took a vicoden and got into the recliner I was pretty good. I alternated between vicoden and valuim about every 2 hours. And just pretty much slept on and off the whole day. I was very lucky that I never felt sick to my stomach at all. The only thing that really hurts is moving from that reclined position into a sitting up position. I haven't got to see much yet, I did pull the ace bandage up and saw some cleavage. They are starting to itch a little this morning which is my 3rd day post op. Sleeping isn't as bad as I thought either, probably because the drugs make me very sleepy. I just woke up every 2-3 hours, popped another pill and right back out.
So I must say, even with this pain, and everything else I just feel like "YEA I FINALLY HAVE BOOBS" I think it will be soooo worth it. To anyone pre Ba reading this, don't underestimate your need for drugs the first couple of days.

congrats!!!

our stories are exactly the same, I also woke up with some pain but once I got my pills in order, it is very easily tolerated. Can't wait till they drop and fluff! I'm so happy for you!
