I was never very well endowed so to speak, LOL! About a small B cup which was fine with my size frame. After 6 pregnancies and nursing all the babies my breasts just weren't the same. I got up to a D when nursing and then when I was done I barely had an A cup but had the skin left over from the D that I got up to. So sad. That is when I seriously started considering getting a BA.

I started researching in January. Set up 6 consults over a few days in March. Chose my PS and scheduled surgery for June 5th. I wish I could have arranged it for earlier but I teach dance and our Spring Show Recital was June 1st so I had to wait until after that was over. It was SO hard waiting, watching so many go before me. But it really gave me time to learn all about BA's and what my recovery would be like.

The night before my surgery I didn't sleep much at all. I wasn't anxious (although I had been earlier that day, LOL) just wide awake. My alarm went off at 5:20. I took a shower with antibacterial soap, got dressed, hair in pigtails, got DH up and my MIL arrived at 6 to stay with the kids. Off we went!!

I arrived at the hospital a little before 7 and checked in. They called me back a few minutes later and put me in a nice room with a bed and TV. DH had to stay in the waiting area for a little while while I got dressed into the gown, hat and socks. I signed some papers. Then DH was brought into the room. We watched some TV while we waited. The nurse came in, gave me an IV and put the anti nausea patch behind my ear. Next was the anesthesiologist, he was really nice. Then Dr Young came in and marked me up. Next two more nurses came in to give me happy drugs. I kissed DH good bye and that is all I remember. They took me in the bed to the OR.

I woke up in recovery, but dozed off and on for about 30 min. Not much pain, just felt engorged. The nurse told me I had an allergic reaction and broke out into a rash from one of the meds so they had to give me benedryl during surgery. I peeked at my girls and they looked pretty good!! After a few minutes they took me back into a room and DH was able to come in and see me. I ate ice chips, then drank some 7up and ate graham crackers. I got up and went potty. So glad that I was able to go, with my last surgery I had to be cathed because I couldn't urinate. The nurse gave me a pain pill since they didn't give me pain meds in my IV. I got dressed and was discharged shortly after, around 12:30 or so.

DH stopped at McDonalds on the way home but I didn't really feel like eating, I had my Kix cereal in a baggie to snack on. And I sipped 7 up. We got home and I went back to my bed to rest. Still not in real pain just that engorged feeling. Swollen and tight. I took one pain pill every 3 hours along with a stool softener.

Today the feeling is still the same, engored and tight. I will be glad when the swelling subsides. I have been taking a half a pain pill every 4 hours today. I took a shower, washed my hair and changed into my sports bra. The girls look great. My lefty is a little tighter than the right. The right has dropped a tiny bit more. I am sure they will even up in time. I do have some bruising underneath. I have been taking Arnica and Bromelain to help with that.

My recovery hasn't been bad. No nausea at all. It hurts more when I get up and walk around so I try not to do too much. I hope to get off the pain meds tomorrow as they make me a little cloudy, LOL!! So I will just use tylenol and save the strong stuff for bed time.

All in all I LOVE my new girls. I was really worried I would end up too big but I think they are going to be just right once the swelling subsides. DH says they look nice. I have overs so I am not sure how much dropping and fluffing I will do.

Congratulations Beth!!! I'm glad you are doing well. Weird coincidence...I had an allergic reaction to (i think) the Vicoden. I took one when I got got home, and broke out in hives...had to take a benidryl too! Let me know if you get pictures up!
