And the story goes like this.....

I woke up early Monday 11/19/07 around 5:00am. A little anxious and excited but surprisingly not nervous at all. My husband and I got the kids ready for school and dropped them off around 6:30am (at the YMCA). We arrived at the surgery center at 7:15am. The nurses were already expecting me and had some paperwork I needed to complete prior to the surgery. I didn't even need to introduce myself they knew who I was and greeted me by my first name and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked through the doors. After completing my paperwork one of the nurses said "okay let's get you dressed in your gown" that's when I looked at my husband and said ''I'll be a new woman in a few hours" literally... Not only did I have a breast augmentation w/lift but I also had a full tummy tuck (which I didn't mention in the newbie forum). He gave me a kiss and hugged me goodbye.. He had to go to work for a couple of hours and since my combined procedures where scheduled to take around 5-6 hours that was too long to sit in the waiting room anyway...Okay so I changed over into my gown and off to the OR we go. I remember the room being very cold. One nurse brought me a warm blanket to cover my legs as I waited for the anesthesiologist... (which was awesome by the way!) He came in and started talking with me and the nurse while she took my vitals and held my hand and said the most pain you are going to feel is the iv to start the meds (which was like a pinch on the arm..piece of cake!!) Then my PS came in and he was ready to work, we started talking as if we were friends and laughing while he was marking me up...At first I was a little self concise because he is a pretty good looking doctor and there I am deflated on the top and a post pregnancy pouch on the bottom and he's gently tugging and lifting my breasts and tummy to mark where the incisions will be.... my first instinct was to suck it all in and stand up straight but I then thought to myself he has seen it all before and didn't seem the least bit discouraged..if anything he was excited to get started...which made me even more excited..Okay so I'm hooked up to the iv machine and the nurses walk me over to the operating table which is so narrow I thought I was barley gonna fit on that thing. Now I'm starting to feel groggy and really cold. The nurse helped me onto the bed and the anesthesiologist is right next to me. He starts the iv on the good stuff and is about to put an oxygen mask over my mouth (which is when I start to feel like I'm about to suffocate, I have this phobia about things covering my mouth) anyway he tells me to relax and just breath and think about taking a long vacation somewhere. I start to feel really woozy within seconds..I remember shaking on the operating table and it being really cold..then a warm blanket was placed on top of me...and someone was holding my hand and before you know it I was out.. I remember the nurses waking me up and telling me I was done.. I couldn't believe it... six hours later I have flat stomach and breasts that actually sit where there suppose to..on my chest!! I must admit I was very tired... The nurse called my husband at work to tell him everything was okay right after surgery and that they were going to keep me there for another hour which was perfect because by the time they woke me up he was already there..=) I was so pleased with my PS and his staff I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience... =)
