BA 12-21-07 a very Long day for a perfect x-mas gift

well here i go...
To do my research, I got on JBI and read every thread, asked a TON of questions.. and finally did it. I made an appointment with a GREAT PS and went to me first appointment. I decided to take my DH with me since the baby was to much for me to handle and liston to the huge ammount of info they give you on your first visit.
MY PS came in and measured me.. he asked me what MY goal was and i giggled. I told him bluntly. To be as big as you will let me go! I had been a full C during my pregnancy and now was a 32AA so i figured a D or DD would be very nice! He looked at the measurements again and walked over to the table with all the saline and silicone fitters on it. (implants for fitting) He explained the differances. and asked me which i prefered. I had told him all my firends stories as quickly as i could about the pros and cons of all the types and sizes, he confirmed that mostly i was right and I choose "gummie bears" as my friends call them. They also are softer then saline and more anitomical over time. (Trust me it was worth the extra $$! to avoid the posibility of ripples or hardness from the saline type) Then for size.. this was my fav part!!! With my size now and weight 5'5 and 146 and the mesurment he took, he recomended a selection.. from 300-535cc. OF CORSE I GRABED THE BIGGEST FIRST! lol he smiled and asked if i was willign to look al the size lower as a contrast. I was very agreeable.. but under the bra they looked the same. He told me with a full Under the muscle procedure they will look 60cc smaller then in this bra. so i quickly ploped out the smaller one and put in another 535. "yup" i propclaimed. "If this is as big as i can have, this is it!" My DH laughed and bounced my son on his knee.
the dr left and the nurse said i could get dressed. We filled out the nessasary paper work and set a date. Lucky for me my work is closed from 12-22 to 1-2 PAID! so i took advantage of the weekend of extra recovery and booked 12-21 and took one extra day off for myself. ( 1 day of vac time was well worth the 3 days of extra recovery)
Pre-Op.
I met with my OR Nurse 10 days before my surgery. she and I went over all the pre-op meds and conditions. SHe also adressed a few of my other concerns ( I was having mutible surgeries not just BA) We also discused my size one more time. I was adimit on being a full D or DD i explained to her.We went over the cc's one more time, and i asked if there was anyway i could go a tiny bit bigger, to get the results of the 535 Under the muscle? She smiled and laughed. She said not many girls go to the 600 club in the first time, specially with my pre-op cup size. but i HAD been a full C before the baby, and i had alittle sagging due to that and trust me at 26 thats NOT COOL
she went to her supplys and pulled out a few bigger sizes that girls normally dont go to from an A cup to. I was so thrilled! I choose 575cc for both and was done, I had made up my mind.. i wasnt going back. I just knew i didnt wan tto regret going smaller.. or too big.

a week past. and i hadnt really gotten nervous.
The day before my surgery i had to work. Everyone at work knew i was getting plastic surgery for my x-mas gif tto myself. i could shut up about it really. So all my co-workers really helped my ease my mind. I do live 15 mins from malibu and 35/45 mins from hollywood. I might as well be in the PS capital! Everyone i know has had Somethign done! So they were very informitive and eased all my worries.
That night i didnt think i would sleep. The Dr. Office called and moved my surgery from 7am to noon! i was alittle upset because i was hoping to awake and aroudn ot call people by noon, not just abotu to go under! But i didnt let it get me down. I thought at least i get to ea ta late dinner and i did pig out! My Hubby took me out for sushi and miso soup ( my fav). Then i went home popped a tylonal PM and slept liek a baby ( not mine so i hear) the whole night!
This by the way was my hubby's first whole night time duty since my son was born... boy whata trooper. i dont think he had any idea what he was getting himself into!
That morning. i was SO thirsty... we had warm Santa ana winds the whole week and the air was very dry. but i couldnt drink anything.. it was killing me. So i hopped into the shower and just rinsed my mouth out as i brushed my teeth and then washed my hair. I pulled my hair back into the tightest pony tail i could and towel dried the botttom of it. scrubbed my face down with the special pre surgery soap, and made sure i said good bye to the girls...
We set out at 8am to drop my son off at day care. and do alittle shopping to take my mind off the lack of coffee and food. 10:30 we left the mall and headed to the Dr. Office (two blocks away) for my 11am preop check in. I walked into this clinic for the first time. I had had all my previous appointments at a smaller clinic closer to my home. So i was amazed how big and clean the office was. My husband didnt think to much of it.. first thing he asked was do you have internet? and Where can i put my laptop. Bumbed that he had neither.. he quickly told me he would be at starbucks most of my surgery! and kissed me to make me feel better about that. It didnt bother me i told him, I was going to to be out and he neede dto be entertained.. and i was sertain 2-3 hours of tummy tuck and breast aug videos that they play in the lobby were not going ot entertain him! I checked in.and waited...and waited and waited. 12..12:30 finally i got nervous! why are they taking so long i thought to myself My DH held my hand and told me to be calm.So I asked the receptionist how long it was going to be. She explained that a patient was still in the OR and the Dr ran over with her. She said they were going to be another 30 mins. at this time i casually asked if my Husband was aloud back with me until i went under. she shook her head no. pointed to a big wooden door and said " I am sorry no one other then patients are allowed past that door" I almost cried. I had all these images in my head of him kissing me in my gown and cap as they wheeled me away!. NOW I WAS NERVOUS!... i sat down and i was crushed. My husband saw it in my eyes.. the excitment of it all was gone and i was now actually regretting everything.. My husband kissed my head and smiled. he told me its best he didnt carry more germs into a recovery area anyways, it just ment they are a cleaner clinic and thats much better then if they were not! ( this didnt help) he tried for the next 20 mins to make me feel better.. then it happened, he said the oen thing i needed to hear to perk me up.. "Hunny and when you get out, i will have the biggest cup of HOT coffee for you!" Oh! he knows me so well! I hugged him hard and the door opened.. "Are you ready to come back?" the nurse asked me... it was my turn and I was so ready!
My hubby already had his Laptop in hand and kissed me one more time. He said it will all be ok " You will take the shortcut threw it so dont worry!" I went back into a very cold hallway. was shown into a bathroom where i placed my cloths in a small locker and put on a pair blue silk panties, a robe open in front, a cute little pair of booties.. and a stupid puffy hat that had elstic around the rim. i shuffled out of the bathroom and down the hall.. again i waited. shivering and doing the "Im very cold" dance. I nurse walked by and aske dif i had been waiting long.. " You poor thing" she said and walked me to my Pre Op Bed. brought me a heated blanket.. and told me my PS would be right in, he was just scrubbing up!
My PS came in to see me, he was very calm and made me feel right at home imediatly. he opened my gown and took one last measurement. He wrote that into his chart. he took a look at my face and measured my ears ( i also had otoplasty) he smiled as he took out a marker." I am going to mark on your skin with this pen, it will be on your skin for a few weeks until you have had a few good showers, so dont be alarmed." he wrote in the insition line under my areola and put a center line down the middle of my chest. then asked me to go ahead and stand by the wall for before pics. I took the gown off and shuffled over to the wall. I think i wasnt cold because I was so ready to be over with it all! He snapped front, both sides and back for the ears. and front and right side for the breasts.

I rerobed layed down and almost drifted off before the nurse came to do my IV. I have to admit she was good i hardly noticed her putting the needle in and she taped it down good too! Then they imediatly wheeled me into the OR, which looked just like Dr. 90210 ( just a hint for who i went to) The lovely nurse patted my head and told me to help he transfer to the tablei remeber lifting myself over and seeing the anasesiaogist seringe somethign into my IV he wispered to me that he placed an antinausea med in there too to help with the after effects. I smiled and that was IT!

2 and a half hours later i woke to the nurse telling my bedside my ride was here. MY DH came in and kissed me.. I looked down and it was all blurry but i could see the little bulge under the cloths..( whichi dont recall putting on) and gleefully declared loudly " I HAVE BOOBS SWEET!" he laughed and a few otgher nurses around smiled and giggled under there breaths. Then as Quick as it came out of my mouth i must have past out again. becuase i awoke in the car... then again at home.. liek a badly edited movie i have big chunks missing form the rest of that day. I know i sat onthe couch with a ton of pillows we a prep before leaving inthe am. and i know i must have dran k my coffee so fast because i peed like every 10 mins for a few hours. then around 5pm... i was awake enough to call my family and friends. I had made my hubby a list, but i was awake enough to make the calls myself. First work, then mom and dad and then my BFF and then the sitter. i was so tired by the last call.. i forgot theat as i was talkignto the sitter it was actually time ot pick him up! so i hung up and my DH was gone!.. i paniced until i looked at the clock.. and the waited for his return with my little monster..
that night was rough. i couldnt get comfortable. and the pain meds did fine for pain but nothing for sleep. I was too afraid to take the tylonal pm on top of the vicodin, since i was having no trouble with my clear headedness with the vicodine and i didnt want to loose that. around 4am i dragged myself out of bed and wen tto the couch to finihs the morning. apparently thats the best place.. a soft couch cause i was OUT until 10am! the next day i relaxed watched some Will and Grace.. slept and ate my husband did every thing fo rme what a dear he is.
As for the next few days I was soar, and i was slow with everything i did but i had help and my friends even took me shopping for new cute tops and stuff.. it was totally worth it.

Congrats to you girl! It's good to hear you're doing well. Just be sure to get lots of rest, lots of fluids and try not to overdo it. Keep us posted!
