Hi Ladies!
I am going to try and be as detailed as possible without boring all of you to death - lol! Ever since I was about 25, I have thought about getting a BA "someday". So at 35, I finally made up my mind. I went to a consultation with Dr. Solomon this last July. My close girlfriend recommended him because he did hers (which are GORGEOUS!) and he has also done several other ladies that she knows. I took some pics with me to show him what I would like to look like, and he also binders and binders full of before and afters of his previous patients that we (Dr., his assistant, hubby & me) looked through until we could find 2 patients who's before pic most closely resembled me - so we could get an idea of what I would most likely look like after the BA. At that visit, we decided that a 475 implant would be a good choice. After hubby and I spent a weekend thinking about it, I called and scheduled a surgery date with him - 1/11/08. My PS utilizes an online education/tutorial type program called MyEmmi, it is a step by step pretty detailed overview about everything that is BA and after each section it asked if I have questions about what was just covered, and if I did, I typed my question and it got emailed to him (my PS's office) and put in my file so at my next appointment he had all of my questions right there and went over all of them with me. (even the ones I had forgotten I had!) I thought that was a pretty cool part of the process because I could log in as many times as I wanted to and my hubby could watch it with me. I was sent for all the labwork in November, and my pre-op appt. was right before Christmas. At the pre-op appt., I paid for the surgery, picked my surgery time and then sat with my PS again to discuss size. This is when he noticed a big difference in the height of my shoulders. I have a curvature in my spine so when I stand relaxed one shoulder is 1 1/2-2 inches shorter than the other. That was the most obvious cause for my asymmetry. When I stand and hold my shoulders straight, my breasts are perfectly even. So he made a note to mark me standing up on surgery day so that he could position the implants so they would be even. He also said (at this appt) that we might have to go down to a 425 implant but he wouldn't know for sure until he got in there. I was a little bummed about that.So finally my surgery day came. We were supposed to be at the surgery center at 7am, on the way there we dropped off our dd at daycare at 6:30. When I kissed her good-bye she said "bye mommy, have good boobie surgery" hubby and I (and one of the center staff standing close by!) just laughed, and we were on our way. The drive is short, only about 20 minutes so we got there at 6:50. The nurse opened the door before we even had a chance to sit down, and took me back to get changed. My hubby had been nervous with a stomach ache all morning so I'm sure this part didn't help at all - they had him wait in the waiting room until I was situated. So I put on the blue "gown" with the matching no slip socks and the puffy blue party hat, and answered a bunch of questions for the nurse. She measured my ribcage (33") and then went to get my hubby so he could sit with me. After a few minutes the anesthesiologist (sp?) came in and started my IV (ouch!) She was nice though at least. Then Dr. Solomon came in to mark me up. When he drew the line down the center of me from my neck towards my belly button that was when he noticed that my left side was at least a full inch wider than my right. Okay, so that presented challenge #2. By the time he was done drawing on me, he turned me toward my hubby and explained to him what he was going to do to try and offset/correct these two issues. It's a really good thing that I trusted my PS completely, because I did not really understand how he planned to fix it. I kissed hubby and they took me into the operating room. I got up on the bed and there were 5 or 6 people in there getting everything ready. Mostly I was listening to the anesthesiologist she was talking about her kids and asking about mine. Two other people were strapping my arms down and I was beginning to feel a bit dizzy, I asked and she said she put something in my IV to help me relax. I continued to talk about my kids and my arm got really cold, I asked her if she put something else in my IV and she said that she did and the very next thing i remember was waking up in the recovery room wondering where my hubby went?! As I got a little clearer, I remembered going into the operating room - but at first it was like I had just blinked my eyes! My throat was VERY dry. A very nice male nurse brought me some water and got my hubby. I was not sick at all, I felt like I wanted to get up right away. I guess I was trying to get up because the nurse and hubby were telling me to stay still, it was weird. I think that I was not nauseous because my PS prescribed a nausea patch that I had put on the night before. So then Dr. Solomon came in to see me and give my hubby some directions. There were only two things I heard. 1) NO PEEKING (do not remove the bandages) and 2) "...450cc on the left and 525cc on the right!!!!!!!! ![]() I go for my first post op visit tomorrow morning at 9am. I can't wait to see them! I have been taking percocet and tylenol for pain, an antibiotic, valium at night to sleep (which is NOT working for me) I might try the tylenol pm tonight. All in all I feel pretty good. Getting up is the the most painful time for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE peeking down into my bandages - I can see two really pretty mountains with this little narrow valley in between. I am SO sorry this was so long, I hope I did not bore you guys. Thanks for reading! ![]() Jen |

Thanks ladies!
Christine, your avatar and siggy pic look amazing! I am all bandaged up with cotton, ace bandages and the strap from just below my clavicle (sp?) all the way down to almost my belly button! You are so lucky to be able to see your girls, and I just wanted to thank you for putting your pic up. I have been feeling swollen, sore, bruised and itchy, so I keep going back and looking at your pic and it helps make me feel better. It's a little scary not being able to see what's going on under there, so I imagine (and HOPE!) they look like yours
![]() I am feeling better today than the past two days. Not nearly as sore. It does feel like the implants are higher up today though, they are way up and over in my armpits. I am excited to go to my first post op in an hour and a half, but I am also nervous to see under there. Everytime I think of my nipples being stitched up I get a little queasy. ![]() I'll post when we get back ![]() Jen |

and happy to hear you are starting to feel better
I have to wear the bandeau strap for at least a week...I see my PS this Thursday at 10am for my post op so we'll see what his instructions are after he examines his handiwork LOL.I am excited cause I get to shower today and take off my underarm bandages. I know what you mean about being scared to see your incisions as I am a little apprehensive to see what's going on under my arms I have been able to get my arms up without too much trouble so I am gonna try to wash my hair as well as I can.I have started weaning myself off my pain meds today too...I am gonna see how I do taking 1 percocet every 6 hours instead of every 4 (so far so good, I am due to take one at 11am) and then I am gonna take only 1 at bedtime instead of 2...we'll see how that goes LOL Overall, it has SOOOO been worth it hasn't it I couldn't be happier!!

1st post op went okay...
Thanks for the well wishes guys! At my appt today they unwrapped my bandages, which I thought would feel good or relieving but that was not the case for me. I felt a burning sensation and it felt like they were going to spontaneously pop out of the top of my chest! I look like sponge bob square boobs. The nurse showed my hubby how to rewrap me (THANK GOD!) and instructed me to stay wrapped 24/7 until my next appt 1 week from thursday, except to shower. I was really suprised how much pain I would feel without the compression wrap. They are not very pretty right now, but I know that eventually they will get better.
Thanks for listening! Jen |

Post op #2 Appt. Today
Well, today I FINALLY got out of the Ace BINDage today! Still wearing the boobie strap, and now I have on a BRA!!!! Ok, so it's a bralette, but I'm grateful. It feels so good to breate freely!
Only problem now is I have to contend with the highbeams! When they were all "snug-as-a-bug-in-a-BIND" (lol) it was SO not and issue... Dr. says they look look they are supposed to and I have my next appt. in two weeks for suture removal and massage. So I guess for the next two weeks I'll be singing "Drop girls! Drop!" to the tune of Disco Inferno to my boobies!! Just thought I'd keep ya'll posted ![]() Jen |

I felt like I wanted to chicken out too, and I'm not going to lie - the week to 9 days post-op I wanted them OUT!! But now they are rounding and changing little by little and I look at my reflection in the mirror and even though they are high, I have the hourglass figure I always wanted! Don't chicken out! You will LOVE your new boobies! Remember when you first had your kids? and you were engorged with milk? Well for me, this is even better than that! xoxo, Jen |
