My story is similiar to all the others. By the day before my surgery I was just so anxious for it to be over. I couldn't wait for the surgery. I'm in the north east, and we got a few inches of snow. The hospitial was over an hour away, so we had to leave an 4am to be there by 6am. I was definitely nervous about the anesthesia. After I was all checked in I waited in the pre-surgery area for my PS. It felt like forever. My husband was with me. I felt bad for him too! Finally my PS arrived and it was "ShowTime". He took some pics and marked me up. The anesthesiologist introduced himself to me. I told him that I just didn't want to wake up in pain. I kissed my hubby goodbye and they wheeled me into the OR. It was your typical OR...sterile and cold...but there was music playing and one of the nurses had a newspaper on the table. Everyone was nice and tried to make me feel comfortable. They small talked a bit. Then the Anest. put a nice cocktail in my IV and then put the mask on my face and I was out. The next thing I remember I was being woke up by a nurse and I was in some major pain! I had alot of pressure on my chest and I found it difficult to breathe. I told the nurse I was in pain and she gave me some demerol. Then I felt like I had to vomit so she gave me a shot of something in my butt. Then pain again...then the shot in my butt...Finally I said please no more demerol!! That definitely made me nauseous. The rest of my "recovery" was kind of upsetting. I thought for sure that I would be home by lunch time. But I had such bad nausea that I kept vomiting every time I sat up. So I had to stay the night in the hospitial. Not how I planned things..but what can ya do. The nurses took good care of me. I felt bad for my hubby because he had to go home alone! At some point that first night I did ask myself "what the heck did I do this for"!!?? I wasn't prepared for the pain. I have to admit that I do feel a little depressed. I will hopefully start feeling better and having less pain. I can't wait until I can just ENJOY my new BOOBIES!! I'm so glad I have my friends from JBI or I'd feel totally alone in this!

Hope your feeling better soon. Enjoy the down time & any pampering you can get. Can't wait to hear how they look, we are so close in stats, 6 days for me.
I know all about the nausea, from a previous surgery & told my PS to give me what ever it takes to keep that from happening. Rest up! |

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your rough recovery. Hopefully the worst is over, though. If you're still coping with nausea, ask your doc/nurse whether compazine in the anal suppository form would be right for you. Having had other non-plastic surgery procedures done in the past, I can *highly* recommend suppository compazine as being THE MOST effective anti-nausea med out there! It starts working almost immediately and lasts 12 hours!
Rest up, hon. This will all be over soon!
