Hi Ladies!!!
![]() Okay, I'm now 3 weeks post-op today...I don't know why it's taken me so long to share my story but here goes. My BA was on the 8th of January, 2008 (of course) which was perfect timing for me. Christmas and New Years was out of the way and the kids didn't have school - which was a good thing - they are 12, 8 and 1, my older two were so helpful and wonderful!!!!! I was scheduled for my op at 1pm so I made sure I had breakfast as I wasn't sure how I would feel about food afterwards. My DP dropped me off at 12 but didn't stay as he had to watch the kids - he took a week off work to babysit me . I filled in the rest of the paperwork and was trying to do everything I could to take my mind off why I was there, while I was getting changed into my very sexy 'op clothes' I had a moment of " am I doing" - luckily it was only a moment. My Dr had a quick chat, took some photos and started 'marking' me for the op. I remember thinking "Shouldn't you be using a ruler??". Not long after that I was taken into the op room, while my anaethetist (who was wonderful) started doing her thing, my 'distraction' nurse started talking about Brittney Spears and Dr Phil, then she asked me how old my kids were but I couldn't remember. I do remember thinking "Okay, tell her one is 12" - the next thing I know they're waking me up - it was done!! BTW, I had silicone, 250cc's in both (probably doesn't sound like a lot to some, but it's perfect for me) under the muscle, crease incision. After checking me over they told me to go back to sleep, but I couldn't, I was WIDE awake and felt great. I could look at my new additions straightaway as there was no bandaging - they looked so good - I just lay there wide awake with a stupid smile on my face. By the time I was dressed DP had arrived and I was STARVING - a nurse brought me a lemonade and the best muffin in the world. ![]() Once we were home and safely in bed I had a sandwich, dinner and cake, the only thing that stopped me eating more was being scared of throwing up. But, I had no nausea, no pain...and NO sleep. I woke FH at 5.30am the next morning, he said "oh you're awake already", I said "I haven't been to sleep yet". ![]() Anyway, three weeks later, I'm still enjoying them...a lot. The only negatives have been that they are still sensitive and from the nipple down - numb, right boob is my 'naughty one' - still a bit sore first thing in the morning and every now and then I get those zingers. Can't shave under my arms properly and I get sore if I lift my arms for too long, other than that everything has been 'swell'. My DP and beautiful kids were sooooo supportive and helpful, and even though I knew they would be, it was so much more than I expected - had me quite teary at times but that could have been the anaesthetic or the painkillers - which btw was panadeine forte. Also, bendy straws, bananas, powerade and water (with the lids loosened) AND laxatives made recovery a lot easier. I have to say - thank you so much to this forum and everyone here for sharing their experiences - good and bad - I REALLY don't know if I would have been as prepared as I was, or even gone through with it if I hadn't found this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! ![]() Best of luck to all of you yet to have your turn!!! PS I tried not to make this too long but once you start you can't stop!! I also tried photobucket but can't get it to work. |

You look great!! Can I ask what profile you have? We have similar stats, and I am considering something in the 250-275 cc range (which is plenty for me too). My ps is recommending moderates. If I have results like yours I will be super pleased. Here's to continued happy healing!!

Hi blueayes
- I got high profiles, before I went in I thought I would go with moderates because I thought it would look more natural but my PS suggested high because they aren't as wide as the moderates, because I'm not a big build the moderates would be to wide for me. If you have a look at the two together you'll see that there isn't a lot of difference but it did make lot of sense. Okay, now I'm not making sense, anyway hope that helps.

Hi colcoop, I know what you mean. When I had my doubts I would just read a few of these posts as they reminded me of the reasons I was doing this and I would get all excited again. I love your avatar 'wishing I was in post-op', it really is so much better. Once it's done you just have to concentrate on recovery - before that you constantly question what you're doing, wondering if you've picked the right size etc. Time will fly - Good Luck!!!

Great story! Glad everything went so well. Except for the insomnia LOL! It is so great being post op- not having to obsess "will it be too big", "will it be too small". You look great! I think I'm a couple weeks behind you. Have you "softened" yet?
