Wow! Where to begin?
How about the beginning? I have known since I was about 17 that I wanted bigger boobs. I am now 40. It's been a long wait!!!!!.... ![]() All of the women in my family are chesty. I, for some reason, was the only one that wasn't. It bothered me most of my life but my mom was really great about it. She always told me there was more to life than having a chest. She always dressed me in nice clothes and taught me to play up my other assets (big eyes, nice hair, tiny waist, curvy bottom). But you know, school boys were quite cruel in junior high and high school and at times it was totally unbearable, at least until I started taking up for myself and talking back to the same boys that teased me. I had a really great boyfriend in high school and he loved me for who I was and never treated me any differently. I was thin all through high school and most of college. By the time I was in my early 20's though I started to gain quite a bit of weight. I also got pregnant for the first time at 21. I had my son and lost my "baby" weight but my body was never really the same after that. Two more years go by and I meet my best friend, my current husband. What a man!!! He is the absolute best! Anyways, we marry and quickly have a daughter. I end up staying home with my kids for about a year and a half. I loved being with my kids but was miserable about everything else that was going on so everytime the kids ate, I ate, and kept eating, and eating, and eating. In that short time I went from 180lbs up to 290lbs. I was as big as a house. Well, I am pear shaped and carry about 80% of my excess weight in my bottom half. The last place I gained was in the breast and the last place I lose is in the breast. I was in the high 200's the rest of my 30's and all of my 40's. Mind you my husband was incredible through all of this. If my weight ever bothered him, he NEVER let me know. Once in a while he would show concern about my health and make comments about me doing what it takes to be around for our kids and grandkids but that would be when I came home from a dr's apt. and would tell him about how the dr was so critical about me needing to lost weight. Through most of the 90's I closely followed Carnie Wilson and her struggle with her weight, especially when she had her gastric bypass. Needless to say I was intrigued. Now, up until then circumstances never really lined up for me. Either I was small enough weight wise and didn't have the money or I was too large but had the money to get a BA. I started thinking a gastric bypass was my silver bullet!!! Get a GB then the ultimate reward, get a BA! Well, it took me 5 years of researching and three different insurance providers for me to finally be able to have a GB done. My life took a huge turn on Oct 30th, 2006. I had a wonderful surgeon, a great support network (friends and family), and an understanding employer that allowed me to take the needed time off. Fast forward 1 year and 1 month, and waa laa, a 162lb weight loss later and it was time to seriously talk about plastic surgery. I was super fortunate that my body and skin responded really well to the weight loss. I still have people tell me all the time that they would have never guessed that I ever had a weight problem until I break out the before pics. It's funny to watch the expression on their faces! Anyways, I now eat well, exercise a lot, drink lots of water and treat my body better than I ever have and I feel incredible because of it. I was never a vain person before but now I really have to keep myself in check....lol! I feel like I was given a second chance at life! My husband is a tall man and carries his weight well but has managed to lose about 40lbs himself and both of my kids are pretty athletic and in shape to begin with (neither have had any sort of a weight problem). As a whole, we are a much healthier family now. So, this past November I started asking various women around work about their BA experiences (many have had them, many are quite vocal about it if you ask....lol). Most of them had work done by the same doctor. I went to a consult with that doctor and a couple others. I have a close friend at work who also had a sucessful GB and she invited me to a support group seminar where a team of PS's were going to talk about post GB options. I went to the seminar, met the two doctors, and met three of their GB PS patients. What an incredible group of people! I knew right then and there I had met my PS. I scheduled a consult and sugery right away. As far as surgery details, here is how it breaks out: Location - Northern California Surgeon - Dr. Chester Cheng (MBPS certified w/ no state malpractice or complaints on file... I checked... ![]() Surgery Location - Certified Outpatient Surgery Center Cost - $7700 (includes everything plus lifetime once a year check ups) Type - Inamed, Silicone, round, midrange profile CC's - 752 each side Pre BA - 34 barely an A Ribcage - 29in Goal - Full D-DD Now two days post op and feel great. I didn't feel so good yesterday though. That was a rough day. My back really hurt no matter if I had pain meds or not. Today is much better. I took my first real look at them today before I took my shower and WOW! I think I will have what I'm after once they settle into place!
