Feeling like a woman again.

Right now I'm sitting at about 3 hours post op, and heavily medicated so I apologize in advance. I really wanted to tell my story.

For me it starts off sad but I figure there may be someone out there that can benefit from me sharing to know they are not alone. Sorry for being long. It feels good to get this off my chest.

Growing up I always the larger breasted girl. It was a part of me and was my image. My husband and I just had started to date and about 6 months into it, I got pregnant (after being told I probably wouldn't be able to have children). I immediately started to lay off coffee and caffeine and anything that was bad, stopped coloring my hair, took my medications, avoided anyone smoking... you name it I did it. My body swelled up and it was incredible... I was elated and overcome with joy. Well, the unthinkable happened and about 6 months into I started to bleed and have sharp sharp pains. I went straight to the hospital and they put me in a treatment room for a few hours, alone and came back to tell me that "I was pregnant". Huh? Yeah thats why I was there..... They referred me to my doctor the next day but by then it was too late... I had a miscarriage. It was so devastating, obviously. Then nature decided to throw more at me, I lactated for a month or so.

Fast forward to recently, because of that I suffered from depression, I had a n overactive thyroid prior to the pregnancy and the hormone change made it switch to a underactive thyroid and I gained 30 lbs (I'm not superficial, it's just hard to put into words what my grief was). So I lost my baby, I gained weight and lastly I went from a 32E to about a 34B. I did not feel like a woman at all. Not only did I lose breast tissue from milk but I didn't have a baby! I had to leave the place I worked, it was too hard. There were around 400 people and they all knew who I was. When I'd run into people they'd ask "Oh wow a breast reduction, you look great"..... What do you say to that?

After I recovered from the depression (5 years later) I decided I wanted a BA. It won't change the issues I have carrying a child, but perhaps it would give me my confidence back.

I found my doctor on mmy first consultation. He was terrific, although his ideas for me did not jive with what I thought I needed. After much inquiry I discovered he did unders/overs silicone and saline. His reasons were pure. We decided on saline, overs and 500ish cc's. He didn't think he could fit any more then 500 but he knew I wanted "large".

I arrived at the surgical center at 3:30 to fill out paperwork. They had me change into a paper gown and robe with those way hot socks. They allowed my husband to come into the waiting room with me and he played music for me on my phone to keep me calm.. Holy cow, thats when it started to feel real. I got my IV and then it was time to go back to the OR. The staff was excellent and told me I was going to look good. The operating table had a warm air thing called a "bear hug" which kept me nice and ready. The last thing I remember is the anesthesiologist told me she was going to give me something to make me feel happy. Well! Then I woke up and the first thing they said was "Sweetie, we got 525 in and they are huge!!". I didn't need to hang out in the recovery room as I felt good enough to go to the car and it was about 6.

The ride home was very very hard. I felt every bump nbut my hubby was so attentive and fantastic. We stopped to pick up a jamba juice (I hadn't eaten all day) and some panera bread, which I just felt okay enough to eat.

When I got home around 6:30ish I went straight to bed, took some pain medication and tried to sleep. My creases and nipples were so painful. It was pretty hard but it felt good to lay down. Around 8:30 I felt strong to eat.

It's now 9:30 and I have the energy to browse these forums filled with incredible woman. Tomorrow I go in and have my ace bandage replaced and next Tuesday I'll be in the soft bra. I also have drains until then. I think I get the fantastic strap tomorrow. Heh.

Right now I can see the tops of my cleavage and it's amazing. I fele more like a girl now.

Sorry so long and babbly. These pills are working.

Today I had a one day post op. Nothing too eventful. I got to seem the boobs without covering.

After that I had enough energy to get a few things from Costco and Target, I picked up some nipple gel things as my nipples started to get sore. They seem to really help.
I won't be able to get my drains out until next week but's faily easy to hide.

So,

Day 2: Did some light shopping. Hubby carried everything. Crease's hurt a bit. Now I'm back in bed with icepacks. Also I'm eating...mmmm...
