Thumbs up Feels a little like magic!!! BA 2-6-08

11:20 AM. I was so scared when I got to the Dr.s office! Before they gave me the IV, I was shaking so hard. The nurse was able to get an IV really fast and easy. She gave me a Valium and wow, I calmed right down. I wasn't nervous at all. Then I was taken to the OR. I loved the staff. They made me feel really comfortable. I hopped up on the bed and layed down. I looked up at the big lights and asked if the anesthesia would burn going in. He said no. I felt a little woosh in my head, then I was waking up!
The first thing I started mumbling about was going ice skating. I only stayed in the recovery room for about a half hour. The Dr. said it went really well. The ride home wasn't bad. Needless to say I spent the rest of the day sleeping and eating.
I had prepared for my recovery
Fresh pineapple
Kiwis
Yogurt
Oatmeal(love that stuff)
Green super food
Chlorophyll
Oil of Oregano (taken internally)
Hypericum (for nerve damage)
Arnica (for bruising)
Multi-vit
Complete tissue and bone Herbal supplement
Powdered Camu camu berries for more vit C
Ice pack
Glutamine
Cell Food (minerals)
This is how the first four days went.
I kept my ice pack with me all the time. I didn't take any pain pills or Valium
The day after surgery I felt pretty good. No nausea, No depression, No constipation or anything else.I had a little bit of a hard time sleeping the first night because of my back hurting. I was drinking a lot of green super food and pineapple. I had to stay down a lot. Just brief moving and stretching periodically through the day.
It's kinda hard to hide what happened from the kids when they want to lay on me and hug me.
By day 2, I could wash my own hair, brush and braid it to, if I was careful. I was aloud to shower 24 hours after surgery. I just had an ace bandage across the top of my chest that I could take off and then put back on. I have these little strips over the crease incisions that won't budge even if I wanted them to. I've had no draining. not sure if it's suppose to later. by day 6, I can drive and start to pick up the house a little. day 7, I'm feeling really good. I just don't have full use of my chest muscles. My body lets me know if I'm over doing it. I just give it about a half hour to rest, then I can be up and at it again.
I'm ready to be back on the ice tomorrow. I figure skate for 2 hours most every day. I'll be seeing the Doc on Wednesday ! I can't wait to see how it all looks to him. I look perfect to me. I bet I'm going to be a full B or a small C which is exactly what I wanted.
If I had to do it again, I'm not sure I would skip the pain pills!

So far it has been an amazing experience. I can hardly wait to soften up and be completely healed.

Thanks everybody. I didn't get bloated or anything like that. Jut had a Doggon hurty chest! To tell you the truth I didn't take my antibiotic either. On the 3rd day I took one dose before I went to bed. I had such terrible dreams and broke out with an itchy rash under my arms the next morning. So I decided to double the dose of my Natural Herbal medicine instead. So far no sign of an infection. No low grade fever or extra swelling at all.

Glad I could help with your list. I had the green stuff and the pineapple about 2 weeks before surgery to build up good blood.

Feels like magic

It is amazing to hear you didn't take any pain meds. I can hardly move and I am on Valium, Permithazine (sp), and Hydrocodone, plus Kayflex (sp) for antibiotics. My left side seems to hurt more then the right which I am sure is because my left was much smaller after loosing all my fat in my boobs and so that one needed WAY more streching as he put 325 in one side and 350 on the left and filled them to as full as they could get. I am hoping for a VERY LARGE C maybe even a medium D. But I still cant believe no meds. I am sitting here asking myself if my daughter needs to stay longer then a week at my moms house I am in so much pain as of right now. When I say pain its not really pain its the pressure on the top of my cheast as my PS said (its like an elephant is sitting on your cheast" and oh how I agree with him.

I see you are taking some meds but just the herbal kind. I have always been the kind of person were I dont want to feel ANY pain and so pain meds are right for me.

I bought all kinds of TV dinners and junk food like cookies, crackers, chips, soup things that are easy to keep down as the doctor said while I am on the pills I need to be on a light diet to help prevent me from getting sick. The last thing I need right now is to cough, laugh, and expecially get sick IYKWIM.

My left side has hurt more than my right side. I wondered if it's a weaker muscle on the left, so it hurts worse to support everything.

Like magic

I was thinking the same thing about the muscles but I also think it is because that side needed more ccs and had less skin then my right which was a little saggy.
