My Story --three days later

I went in on the morning of March 11 at 6:45 am. My surgery was scheduled for 7:30. I could not sleep the night before, I was so nervous. Thinking of all the things that could have gone wrong. Mostly becasue my babysitter had been in a bad car accident the day before. Her daughter had cracked her skull and was in the hospital. (She is better now praise God!) But I had not told anyone else about my impending surgery. I felt this was something very private. I broke down and told my MIL and asked her if she could come and stay with my children while my husbanad and I left for the surgery.
I made sure to take the valium they prescribed for me before we left. I am very glad that I did, because when we got into the room where we began to prep I started to kind of freak out. (No one but my husband could tell, but nonotheless I did) Everything else really seems like a blur to me. I remember putting on compression stockings, the Dr drawing on my chest, the nurse starting the IV, and the anesthesiologist coming in to put some "good stuff" as he called it into my IV. They moved me to another bed, rolled me into the OR room and gave me a mask. The next thing I remember is waking up and having this crushing feeling on my chest. I could not breathe at all. It literally seemed like I had been there for minures.
Anyways, after we left my husband stopped somewhere for food to take home to our children. I do not remember anything but my MIL coming into my room and kissing me on my forehead and telling she that she loved me.
After laying in bed for about 5 hours or so my husband made me get up and walk around and eat something. I am glad that he did, because I have no stiffness and feel pretty good for the third day.
I just remembered reading someone else's post and they said to stay on top of your pain meds, that was the best advice I hav ereceived so far.. I have been doing that. Except when I wake in the morning I am in excruciating pain!
All in all it has not bee too bad. I have had no nausea, pain has been bad but not too bad. And my husband and kids have been so sweet and helpful towards my healing. They made me feel like a princess yesterday and the day before. (So sweet!)

Anyways, they look great. I am very happy with the size. The Dr decided on 340 on one side and 344 on the other. ALthough the leftie looks a little bigger than the rightie. Maybe that is normal, but I hope that they even out. I will post a pic when I get a chance.

Thanks for reading my long story.

CONGRATS on your new additions! BTW - for the first several days, I set an alarm to wake me during the night so that I could take my meds even if I didn't have pain which did help TONS when I got up in the morning.
