So, I'm actually one of the youngest women here, but I've always had a problem that really interfered with my life. I had deformed breasts. It's called "tuberous" or "tubular" or "hypoplastic" breast deformity. The areolas were basically very big and extremely puffy, especially compared to the little breast tissue I had. There was not much breast tissue under the areolas, and my breasts were assymetrical. The shape was the most disturbing part... Just google it to see what it looks like. It comes in varying degrees of severity.
Anyways, I'd been researching this for months before I had the balls to go see a professional. First, I went to the normal doctor to get my hormone levels checked and ask if my breasts were a sign of PCOS (this is what I'd read on some internet forums). The doctor found my levels to be normal and didn't think my deformity was a sign of PCOS from the start. She then referred me to a plastic surgeon, who happened to be the chief of plastic surgery at a very reputable hospital in my area. At the consultation, the doctor was very understanding and told me he would have to use implants, do a benelli lift (at the same time reducing the areolas) and lower my breast crease. He would be using saline implants, under the muscle, and on the day of surgery he decided the incision would be around the areola. The day of surgery finally came. My surgery was in the morning and the team was very nice and everything. I was given anaesthesia and woke up about 2 hours later. I was very sore and needed help moving around and doing everything. The car ride home was painful. When I got home, tears started to fall because of the pain. The first 2-3 days were the worst ones. Pain meds every 4 hours and not much sleep. Sleep had to be in a sitting up position on the couch. My appetite was small most of the time. I went to the dr on day 5 and he removed the bandages and now there are just steristrips + stitches on my areolas. The implants he used were 300cc and 225cc. The bigger implant is causing me a lot of pain, especially when I move and try to sleep. There is some hematoma in that breast and it's more swollen. It feels like the skin on my side is being ripped out when it hurts and like I have a ball taped to my chest. Does anyone have any experience and words of wisdom with this? Yesterday I bought 2 sports bras - 34c. My old size was 32b. I'm guessing the implants sticking out at my sides a bit increase the band size, but then again I couldn't find any 32c sports bras so maybe that would fit better. That's pretty much my story for now, I'll keep you all updated on my progress!

I can relate to the pain. I had the most horrible pain during the first 3days post-op that it was excruciatingly painful to move even a bit!
My PS said that if I'm right handed, my right breast may be more painful and will take longer for the swelling to do down. He was very correct. I'm 13 days post op and my right breast still has some pain at the outer sides. Both breasts are still sore to the touch though but I have started my massage. Recovery is usually longer for under the muscle placement of implants like yours and mine. The breast muscles where the bigger implant was placed have been even more stretched than the other breast to accommodate your bigger implant. Maybe that's why. Hope you'll see your PS about this. If you already saw him, what did your PS say? How will he deal with your hematoma? Hope all goes well and you're feeling a lot better now. Cheers! ![]() Dusky Angel

DuskyAngel, the bigger implant is what I think it is, also.
Well I saw my PS yesterday and he's the one who said I have a bit of hematoma. I wouldn't have known otherwise. He said it'll go away on its own... I hope it does. Hope your recovery goes well also! =) I'd give thanks but maybe I don't have enough posts to do so? :S |

Oh girl, it's my pleasure!
![]() Many hematomas resolve on their own. At least your PS has assured you that it will be okay! Whew! Hope you will rest as much as you can as exerting much effort than you're supposed to may also lead to hematoma. Keep us posted. Take care! Dusky Angel

my doctor determined I have tubular breasts too (image in profile). Our breasts are already farther apart than a normal case, so I wouldn't be overly worried about the sizing until you r done healing. Did your doctor use high profiles on you? I chose not to get the mini lift, but I will have my nipples altered on the bottom to shrink them slightly. You are the first I have blogged with who also had tubular breasts.... can you keep me updated, so I kinda know what to expect for myself in a week and a half? Thank you! Hope you feel better soon!

Hi medianoche1
Nope, my surgeon used moderate plus profiles to get a rounder look because high profiles wouldn't help the pointy shape. My case was much worse than yours is and I have much less natural breast tissue than yourself. So far, the results seem very promising. My areolas (from what i can see behind all the steristrips) pucker however but they will eventually go down, and my breasts still have that fake look to them. As in, the downwards slope isn't natural at all lol. I'm only a week post op however, and I know that in a couple of months they'll be pretty much perfect.I'll keep you updated, sure I'm getting my steristrips and stitches removed on April 4th.

Congratulations on your surgery. I hope that you get the results you were looking for, and that your pain gets easier to manage.

Last night I was stupid and took off my steristrips. One incision (areola) was open and had some wet blood. Today I saw blood on my other areola. Freaked out and bought some steristrips at the pharmacy and put them on. Hope that's okay....
