Officially in Boobieville!!!

Hey girls!! Well, I'm a little doped, so I apologize in advance for my typing.

Believe it or not, I had absolutely no trouble sleeping the night before. My sugery was originally scheduled for 9:15 am, but my PS called me the day before and said that I needed to be there at 6:45am. So, I got up at 5:00, showered and got ready to leave. We decided to take my husband's car, but when we got in his gas needle was on E. So, I told him to take mine, but he said, "Oh no, we can make it." Ha! We stopped at one station and they wouldn't take the credit card outside, so we went to another one and they said that the pump was broken. I started thinking oh my gosh, this must be a sign! We finally found another station and got gas.
Then we arrived at the PS's office and the nurse was waiting on me. She let my husband come back with me. She made me go pee in a cup, which I could hardly ring for some reason! LOL Then I had to change into my lovely gown and socks. The had the bed heated up for me already and it had this warm air blower in it. It was awesome. She had to go over all of my medical records again and then she hooked me up to the IV. She put something in it and I could smell it and taste it. It was the weirdest thing. Then, about 30 minutes later the anesthesioloigst came in and asked me more questions and explained to me the whole procedure to me and went to wait for Dr. Bentley. When Dr. Bentley got there he came in and asked me if I was ready. I said yes, but no! LOL i was so terrified of the anesthesia for some reason. Dr. Bentley marked me up, comfirmed what size I wanted to be and left me in the room with my husband. About 5 minutes later the anesthesiologist came in and said he was going to give me something to relax. I don't remember much after that except kissing my husband and moving from the bed to the table. I woke up at about 10 coughing like crazy. The nurse asked me if I was ok and I told her that my throat was hurting. I could not get comfortable and I remember tossing and turning in my bed. I was MISERABLE!!! My husband got to come back and sit with me while I tried to wake up, but I couldn't open my eyes!! After about half an hour, I was able to stay awake, but I was in PAIN!! The nurse put my clothes back on me and I got in the car. We have horrible roads here in Alabama and we had a 45 minutes of hitting bumps! LOL I pretty much slept all day yesterday. I would just wake up long enough to drink something and take my medicine. I feel much better today, but I am still really sore and stiff. I'm sure that's to be expected. Well, that about sums up my experience. I will keep you guys updated. Thanks for being so informative!!!

Thanks for sharing your story. I was a little nervous about the anesthesia too...and I woke up in some serious pain as well! It will be worth it.
