Jessi's BA Story!

Hello ladies

Well my surgery was yesterday afternoon and here is my story. Apologies for any spelling mistakes, I'm on meds and very tired My hubby and I arrived at the hospital just before 11am where I was admitted and then taken up to a pre op ward. I got changed into my gown, paper knickers (very sexy) and compression stockings. Then we had to wait. Unfortunately my husband had to leave at 2pm to go to an appointment but I only had to wait about 15 minutes by myself until they took me into the waiting for theatre ward.

I had never been in hospital before so everything was a very new experience to me! I was not really nervous, just a little apprehensive of what would happen.

My anaesthetist came and spoke to me and then took me into theatre. My bed was pushed up next to the operating table and then I moved across onto it. My anaesthetist asked my to pump my hands into a fist so that she could find my largest vein. As she was doing this, another nurse was sticking the heart monitors on me and a third was asking me my name and date of birth. So I barely felt the needle for the anaesthesia. An oxgen mask was placed over my face and I had to take deep breaths. That was a little scary, waiting to go under, but before I knew it I woke up in recovery.

When I woke up I was quite disorientated and stated crying. I think the nurses and anaethetist thought I was crying from the pain so they decided to use the pain pump on me.

I had heard about the pain pump from this forum but I didn't quite know what it was. Basically a certain amount of strong drugs is hooked up to your IV along with a saline drip for hydration. Every time you feel slightly in pain you press a button attached to the iv (it goes around you wrist as well so it's easy to press) and a dose of painkillers is administered through your iv. The button can only be pressed once every 5 minutes so it is safe to use. I am soooo glad I had the pain pump. If you have the choice girls, do it! What a relief. I had no pain at all! Just discomfort but the pain pump helped tremendously.

It does make you prone to nausea, and I did vomit. However they gave me a needle in my bum for the nausea and I was 100% fine after that.

When I went back to my ward my dad and my husband came in to see me. That part is all a bit blurry to be honest! Apparently I called my mum but I have no recollection of that! Dad left, and hubby stayed until about 8pm. I slept okay, I had to get up a few times to go the toilet (because of the saline continuously going into my iv) and each time a nurse had to help me because of the pain pump/saline stand.

This morning I ate breakfast and saw my anaesthestist and surgeon to go over any questions. The surgeon seemed very pleased with the results. Around 9am the nurses gave me my first oral tablets and took me off the pain pump. I wish I could have taken the pain pump home with me! haha. The tablets are still doing a good job though, I honestly have had no pain, I'm just a little bit sore and tight.

I have to admit my first impression of my boobies wasn't joy but I remembered what many of you told me- that not many people's first reaction was that great! They were wide apart and my nipples were a bit puffy, and they weren't as big as I thought they would be.

I asked my doc for a full D to DD and when I spoke to him this morning I asked him what size he thought i would be. He said a D, but to remember an augmented D will lok like a C in clothing. To be honest, I would have rather a DD so it looked like a D in clothing, but what can you do? I'm still ecstatic to finally have breasts!

I went from an A cup, and had 450cc HP silicone unders with a crease incision, as my sig says. I had textured implants so I don't have to massage. I have to wear my cotton support bra for 6 weeks straight now, however it's pretty comfy.

So that's my story! Thanks for reading and thank you so much to everyone for being so supportive. I've only been on this forum a few weeks but I am sooo grateful I found it, you guys are a wealth of information and so kind and caring. THANK YOU!!
