Soo, I had my BA yesterday and I just can't believe I did it! After talking about it for sooo many years, I finally got what I was always missing.....BOOBS! And I am soo happy.
So my BA story goes like this.....got up early, i couldn't sleep anymore...lol and head over to the surgical center with my mother (the best nurse in the world!). She and I both said, we can't believe we are sitting here waiting for them to call my name. So when the nurse did, i expected to go on in to meet with my PS again and talk to him so I told my mother, come on let's go....the nurse said oh no hunnie, it's time! So I kissed my mother and off I was. I waited a little while after I got dressed in the gorgeous burlap sack like gown my PS brought me in a room to make the incision marks (i went in through the nipple), confirmed size with PS again and back into the bed to wait some more. Everyone was so nice and chatted with me while I waited, the nurses and some of the doctors. After one of the nurses wheeled me in the OR, I saw the anastesiologist and watched him as he put the "good stuff" in my IV - and that was the last thing I could remember. When I woke up they gave me some ginger ale and some crackers - the nurse started asking me if I was excited about my trip....and somewhat puzzled answered how did u know? ( I am going to Las Vegas in May to celebrate my brother's 21st bday - I have family out there and go all the time, but this is going to be a big blowout event!) The nurse said I was talking to her and the anastesiologist all about my trip - i had no clue I was even talking to anyone!! thought that was kinda funny......hope I didn't say anything embarrassing! I awoke kinda groggy and expected to see these huge mountains on my chest and there were no mountains - Thank God as I made sure I stressed to the PS that I wanted a full B, baby C only - I am only 5'2 100lbs. The elevator at the surgical center just broke, so i had to wait until the whole nurses staff was ready to leave for the day - and they all walked me down the stairs to the car. I felt good yesterday - but boy oh boy am i feeling it today. I am sore, the breasts feel swollen and i feel the muscle tightened, but nothing I can't handle (after having several painful kidney stones in the past - those were REALLY painful). The PS put a gauze pad on me, taped the girls down a little and then the surgical bra. I will be able to shower on Sunday and I can't wait to see the new twins....i have tried to peek a little hehe. Monday is a follow up and then i don't go back to work until Thursday, so i have plenty of time to rest. Sorry this was so long, but I remember before I had my BA, I really loved to read everyone else's stories on here and it totally helped me to expect all that goes on. But all is well here, and I am in boobieville indeed!!! Thanks everyone for such rapid responses and all of the helpful advice.....best of luck to the girls on here who are patiently waiting, believe me - it'll be worth it! |

Wow - what a fabulous experience!! And I am really happy that you have such an amazing relationship with your mom!!
Keep up on your meds - round the clock. Keep a bagel or some crackers and water by you where you're sleeping (seriously, do not try to take the meds and the antibiotics on an empty stomach-you'll regret it!). Set your timer, cell phone or alarm clock to wake up and take the meds every 4-5 or 5-6 hours because if you get behind the pain it can really be bad. You only need to do this for the first four days or so. Oh and keep a written paper with the meds you take right there as well - one column for antibiotics, another for pain meds, another for muscle relaxants (if you're taking any). Write down the time, date and number of pills you take each time you take them. Sounds silly but really - it's easy to take too many when you're out of it. I cannot wait to hear more from you!! Congratulations!!!!!!!! ![]()

Congrats! Today is my 2nd post op day also & I am feeling it more today. I had no nausea thank goodness & mild bruising under the right at the crease incision. I have seen mine already & wish I had done it sooner. Mostly resting in the new leather recliner I bought for my husband & slept in it last night. It is pretty painful to lay flat.
Best wishes to you! I have a yahoo group w/photos. http://groups.yahoo.com/groups.csawhook.com- I think thats it, if not email me at csawhook@yahoo.com |

We had our surgeries on the same day, and we were both in the same boat. I also had been thinking of doing this for 3 years, and I postponed and cancelled about 3-4 times. I was beginning to think my ps's office thought I was crazy, lol. Sounds like your experience is as good as mine. Congratulations and keep us posted on your recovery, as I will, so we can compare stories.

Yea.....you made it!
![]() I don't remember anything after the "happy juice" in my IV either - no clue if I talked at all or was just plain out of it, and I'm not asking either! What size did you go with? I did not go real large either. Oliveskinlover is right - stay on top of your pain meds, you'll be glad that you did. Kudos for taking a good chunk of time off. I had 12 days and I think 2 full weeks would have been best to handle everything that I typically do. And two days of work and then the weekend already for you....good idea! Keep us posted on your progress! |

Well today is day 5 of my post op.....i totally have the boobie blues and am still in a lot of pain. My PS showed me how to massage yesterday at my follow up appt. - and man oh man does it hurt!!
I finally called my supervisor and told her what i had done. ( a little background - i work in the fashion industry and woman are VERY caddy in this industry) she seemed supportive and told me if i needed additional days off just to give her a call, but i know she will be telling the entire office this afternoon. I don't care - it is noticable - so ppl will find out eventually. I am constantly touching the girls, even while sleeping, I have noticed that I wake up with my hands on my new boobs. Slowly but surely the pain is minimizing.....i just can't wait until the whole healing process is over and i can feel normal again. |
