All I can say is..........WOW!!!

It's been an amazing couple of days. I had to be at the surgery center yesterday at 7:30am for my ba/bl. My 19 year old son was already gone for his first college class while my dad came and picked up my 10 year old daughter to take her to school for me. My husband drove me and my mom was already there when we got there. It only took about 4-5 minutes before they called me back as I asked if my hubby can come back with me until it was time. We were taken into a little cozy room where they had me take off my zip up shirt and put on one of those sexy gowns, they did let me keep on my pants and socks, which was awesome and comforting. They gave me 4 Valium to relax me and then stuck the IV in my arm. The nurse must be really good, because she found my vein on the first try, which normally doesn't happen. The doctor came in marked me up, I told him again that I did not want to be too big and told him that 275cc was the biggest I wanted to go. (I was already a 34 b/c.) He jokingly said...........475cc okay, winked and walked out the door. The doctor performs most of his surgeries with Twilight Sedation instead of General. I was nervous about it at first, but he said it helps with the recovery time and that I wouldn't have athe vomiting you normally get with the General. Sure enough, no getting sick and no pain. If any of you are nervous about having Twilight, don't be, I loved it. Anyway, the Valium must have put me to sleep soon after that, I kind of remember them strapping my arms down to a table, but that is all I remember until I got home, I don't even remember driving home. I remember my husband helping me get my pj's on and then I fell back to sleep. When I woke up a little while later, I looked down and sure enough....there they were. I didn't feel any pain or anything. I started the ice packs for swelling and little by little I could feel them getting more sore. I took one pain pill yesterday, one valium before I went to sleep for the night, and another pain pill in the middle of the night. Since then............nothing. I feel really good, just sore like I've worked out harder than I should have. My husband and daughter have been AWESOME. I couldn't have done this without them. I haven't talked about it to much with my son, lol. I had my first post-op at 9:00am. They took off the gauze and tape that I was sent home with and said that my righty was a little more swollen than my left, but no bruising or anything. They gave me a sports bra, and told me I have to wear the strap for the first five days, but I actually like having it on. The shape of my breasts are really round, and little high, but nice. The lift scars are covered in a thin tape, but don't look so bad, and I don't have any pain from the incisions. I am very pleased with my outcome so far, I can't believe I postponed this surgery for this long, I actually cancelled twice in the last 3 months. Thank you all SOOOO much for your support. I had a lot of questions and you answered them all and put my mind at ease. I'll try to post pics as soon as I figure out how. Thanks again JBI.

Thumbs up

Wow that is an awesome story! Thanks for sharing. Did you do unders? what kind of profile? Sounds like you are recovering well! I esp. liked your thumbs up for the twilight. The last time I went under for something else, I didn't come out of it well and I have done twilight w/o any issues. Thanks, I'm feeling more confident w/ each story I read. Love you gals!

Thanks for sharing your story. Did you PS give you the 275cc you wanted or did he go bigger/smaller?

Thanks for your questions, concern and support. I am so excited, I forgot to give you my final stats. I ended up with 275cc, Unders and Mod+. Love all my choices so far.

HOORAY!!! You made it to the other side!!

I have been wearing a strap since day 4 (was wrapped due to having a pain pump) and I really don't mind having it on now either...in fact, I feel a bit "off" without it. (We will be parting ways after Thursday, however, so it will be a bittersweet goodbye ).

My dd was a huge help too (she's 13). I couldn't have made it through the first few days with her and dh.

I hope you have a smooth and comfortable recovery!! Please keep us posted on your progress.
