My Story! :)

I did it! I've spent so much time reading other people's stories, and now here I am able to write my own. My surgery was scheduled yesterday at 11am. I woke up in the morning around 5am in my hotel room and there was no way I was going back to sleep. So, I spent some time on my laptop mainly on this website reading up some more. I showered, and took care of the shaving, washing hair, etc...things I wasn't going to be able to do by myself for a few days. My mom and I left a bit early so that we could drive around Destin for awhile since it's such a beautiful place and I arrived at the surgery center around 9:45am (Had to be there at 10). One of the nurses came to get me and let my mom know that she would come back to get her in about 20 minutes after I was prepped. I was taken to a restroom where I was instructed to put on a gown, tight stalkings in order to help blood circulation and a cup to pee in for a pregnancy test. Everything had to be removed and placed into a provided bag. I then went to a hospital bed where the nurse went over some things with me. They actually had one number on my social security number wrong, so make sure you check those things closely girls! She then put a blood pressure thingy around my arm and velcroed these things on my legs that she told me would massage my legs while I was under- again to help with circulation. She then numbed my left hand to put in an IV. First attempt failed, so she had to use my other hand...luckily she was able to get it in easily. She then gave me some IV antibiotic and went and got my mom so that she could sit with me while I waited.
While I sat with my mom, we spoke to a couple other nurses and the anesthesiologist. The nurses wanted me to say exactly what procedure I was having, saline, transaxillary incision, and all that kind of stuff. Then the anesthesiologist explained what was going to happen and asked some questions. Then my Dr. came in to go over sizes and make sure I hadn't changed my mind on anything. He was so happy and cheery, that it gave me some extra confidence and took some apprehensions away. Right before they took me into surgery they injected something into my IV that made me feel quite nice! haha...I just remember smiling a lot and then being wheeled off. I also have a slight memory of being told to take some deep breathes, and then it was over. I woke up in a fair amount of pain. I was asked on a scale of 1-10 how my pain was, I said 5-6. I felt a lot of pressure and some burning. The nurse gave me some morphine and that didn't seem to have much of an effect. After trying a little more and still not feeling relief, she gave me something else that did the trick. After waking up a little bit the nurse closed the drapes and basically dressed me. My stalkings are to stay on for 24 hrs...so I should be able to take them off this afternoon.
After surgery, I pretty much stayed in bed propped up on pillows for the rest of the day, only getting up to go to the bathroom. I have not felt much nausea other than when I get up to walk to and from there. Its kind of weird because I feel immediate relief once I hit my bed again. I think it must be all of the pressure coming down, as well as the anesthesia wearing off in my body. My mom has been wonderful, helping me with my meds and helping me out of bed, getting food, etc. I have been staying on top of my pain meds, but I'm only take 1 of the percocets if I am not feeling horrible. The also help me get some sleep...last night I slept wonderfully. Today I am feeling better. I can already notice that some things are getting easier. I'm happy with my breasts, but its really hard to tell how they are going to look at this point...mainly because of the strap I have to keep on. I will be happy when it comes off, but I've still got a week. So for now, I'm still taking it easy and am going to try raising my arms gradually this afternoon as I was instructed to do...not looking forward to it! Good luck to any of you that are about to go through this...I can't tell you how nice it is to look down and see boobies!!

i also had my ba yeseday,i post my story yesteday,
i was a 32b,and got 250cc on the left and 265 on the right saline
but also a lift on my left breast,this is the lift that hurt,but the ba dosen t
i just took a percoset to make certain i will sleep,

Thank you everyone! Recovery is going a lot better than I had expected...the pain is not bad at all, I'm pretty much only taking the percocet at night, and tylenol during the day. I think I'm going to like my new additions, but they seem smaller than I was expecting at this point..but I know there are many changes to come. Can't wait for my chest muscles to loosen up so I can figure out my exact size.....I want to use my Victoria's Secret gift card! Thanks for all of your support, you've been wonderful!

Congrats! Thanks for your story. I'll be recovering right behind you, so it's nice to read about what to expect. I've taken two percosets for the first two doses today. When did you reduce it to one? I don't want to over do it with the pain killers, but I also don't want that pain sneaking up on me. I know everyone is different with that though. Happy recovery!
