On the Flip Side! Yay Boobies!! (long)
I did it!! Here's how it went today:
Surgery was scheduled for 9:30am, so we had to be there at 8:30. I showered last night and this morning with Dial, washed my hair really well and straightened it (I have curly hair and it's much easier to deal with straight). This sounds silly but I was really worried about being able to pee for the pregnancy test with not being able to drink anything this morning, and I usually get up in the middle of the night to pee. BF laughed at me and said not to worry, and he was right, lol! Maybe the excitement helped too, but I peed fine and was NOT pregnant thank goodness! After that I changed into the lovely gown, but got to keep my panties and socks on. Also got a surgical cap and booties. The pre-op nurse was great really funny and comforting. She also did awesome putting my IV in, which happened next. I haven't had many IVs and the cold sensation on my arm and side was really weird, but almost nice!So then we waited.... and waited. I guess they were running a bit behind, and of course I was antsy as all. Eventually Dr. Bauer came in to draw on me. He was very quick but nice and reassuring as usual. More waiting. The anesthesiologist came in and told me about the general anesthesia and said I shouldn't have much nausea (which I don't!). Then back I went finally! I walked over to the OR next door with the nurse holding my IV bag, and laid down on the table. That was weird! I couldn't believe I was actually there. The anesthesiologist said she'd give me something to relax while they finished preparing.... and I was OUT. It was so quick. Waking up was kinda hard. I just felt sooo groggy and my chest was hurting a bit along with pressure, so I almost didn't want to wake up haha. But the first thing I did was look down at them of course. And boy was I happy! They didn't look all that big from that angle and being so tight of course, but nice n shapely! The recovery room nurse was talking a bit about her BA and that made me feel good. She brought BF back and that made me perk up more They got my clothes on, into a wheelchair, into BF's druck and outta there! It felt so quick!I was in a good bit of pain at first, especially righty. It was all muscle pain because my skin is still very numb. I couldn't wait to take the pain pills. We ran by Chick fil A and got my promised milkshake and fries I was also really thirsty and chugged some diet coke. Then 2 percoset. By the time we got home the pills were kicking in and I felt much better. I've been icing with my frozen peas and drinking a lot since I'm still thirsty. Watched a movie, and in general feeling pretty decent! I'm taking pics and will post them when I get a few more "afters". BF is being awesome and getting me everything I need ![]() I got 475ccs, mentor saline mods, under the muscle (and feeling it!). 475 was the top of my range but I think I'll be really glad I got that much (thanks for the advice on that ladies!). It's hard to tell how big I'll be right now, but definitely at least large C I think. Righty does look bigger than lefty, but I'm hoping that's just swelling (it was slightly bigger to begin with though...). Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to share as much as possible since you all have been so so helpful and supportive. Thank you, thank you , thank you! |

Thanks everyone! Yes, percocet is saving my life, but I'm afraid I'll be paying for it with constipation in a few days :/ oh well.
Eurogirl- woohoo boob sisters! I'll definitely look forward to your full story. Not sure when the swelling will go away completely. My righty is definitely more swolen than the left. I think in general it goes down a lot after a week. I am trying to ice all the time, so hopefully that will help. Happy recovery! |

Hi Lily,
I've been out of town for a bit but I just saw your post. Congrats! I'm sure you will be happy with your outcome. Ok. Constipation....one of my biggest BA nightmares. Start taking milk of magnesia...it is the only thing that helped me. PM me for any questions...since we share the same surgeon I know much of what you are dealing with right now. Hang in there and remember, you really won't *love* the new additions for several weeks possibly months. It isn't an instant fix. The girls of this forum have lots of good advice for you during your post op stage. Make use of the info here. I would not have made it through recovery as well without the gals of JBI. So happy for you!! |

Haha thanks fairy
And thanks for all the well-wishes!So last night was kinda rough. I think whatever numbing meds they gave me during surgery started to wear off, and even the max dose of percocet wasn't quite doing it for me. But icing has been a lifesaver. I finally fell asleep in our papillon chair with ice on my chest. I feel so lucky that I haven't had any nausea. I've been trying to eat at least a little something whenever I take my meds. So right now with two percs on board and ice strapped on I feel pretty comfy. But I definitely have serious soreness and can't even open my med bottles. Love my BF more every minute for taking such good care of me
