Well - I'd been thinking about implants (seriously) for over two years and have been doing research on the topic for quite some time. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to set up a couple consulations to see what my options where, price/size, etc. I made the first first appointment for 4/25 and hubby and I were all excited about the possibilities of new boobies becoming a reality!!
I have always been small (mother and sister both D-DD's - I'm a small B), nursed 3 kids in 3 years and really need to do this for me. So, we met with the DR. on Thursday - after examining me he asked were I'd like to be and I said "A full C would be great"... He slowly shook his head and said he didn't think that would be possible but he would do what he could. Really liked him (inspite of that) and dh and I decided to set a date. Well, the nurse told us there had been a cancellation the following Monday morning, and did I want to take the spot! That was in 4 days!!!>.. I was excited and anxious alll at once but we agreed and "signed up". I had to come back in the following day to get my med scripts and finalize all the details. Monday morning, the surgery was scheduled for 9am and I was suppose to show by 8am. I was there early and immediately taken to the back to get changed. The let me keep my undies on, gave me some hospital 'socks' and a gown to put on. I then pee'd in a cup and was taken a room and placed on a 'gurney'. Not long after, the nurse came in, went over the medical history again, etc. Then she put an IV in my hand (gave me a numbing agent first so the IV was a breeze!). Then the anistesiologist (sp?) came in, also went over med history, discussed what he would be doing and what I could expect. The dr came in after that, joking with me and reassuring me... made some marks with a purple pen. The last time I looked at the clock, it was 9:10am and that is the last thing I remember! I woke up about 11:30 and then got me dressed and I was out the door. I felt like the discharge was a bit abrupt but all was well. My elbows and my wrists ached and throbbed.. I''m guessing it's because of the way they had them held up during surgery (??). By the time I got home, I was woozy and disoriented (still under the unfluence of the drugs) so hubby put me to bed and I did a lot of resting. I think the recovery has been good so far. I have A LOT of chest muscles spasms and still aches a lot to get up out of bed and/or turn over - but am finally able to sleep on my side (sorta). I didn't have a lot of the other things I've seen some of the girls go through in this forum. I didn't have a strap or ace bandage - just a support bra with no instructions as to "don't take it off till". I was told I could take a shower by the second day and that I should keep clean gauze on the incisions. No instructions on massaging, or ice or lifing arms etc. Said I should be able to comfortably drive my car after 3 days - and I was. I'm a week out now, feeling good most of the time. I went and tried on some bras and SURPRISE - I am in a D cup!!!! Totally not expecting that but definitely pleased. They are definitely in the frankenstine phase by hubby is LOVING them - says the look and feel great. I thought he would enjoy them more once they were softer and more supple - but he is totally happy now (good thing he is easy to please!)... I will update with the cc's after my first post-op appointment tomorrow. Hope this helps anyone getting ready to do this. Thanks to all you ladies have shared your advice and experiences - that have been awesome encouragement. BTW - how do you "thank" some one on their post???? |

I have frankenboobs, also... hoping they start to go down by Friday when I pick my husband up from the airport. He's coming in from Iraq for a month and I don't want to scare him...
My doctor didn't have me wear a strap or use ice packs or anything either... I think that contributes to having the weird shaped breasts. Congrats on your additions!!! I know I'm excited about mine!
