Hi girls,
It's my turn to tell my story! I had my BA last Wed. (5/7). I was a nervous wreck, because I am just that kind of person. My DH dropped me off at the door to the surgery center, and I walked in and had to laugh at myself because it was a general purpose surgery center, meaning that they do ALL kinds of surgery there, not just plastic/aesthetic. I wore a short sleeved printed zip-up hoodie w/ no bra, since I wouldn't be needing that afterwards! So there I was, all flat and nipple-y as can be. Of course the wait in the main waiting room was forever, and my DH had to go and drop off my DD4 at preschool then come back to be w/ me. I finally got called back, and then waited some more. I tried making friends w/ the lady prepping me, since I figured she would be around the whole time, but she would not. That was okay, everybody in the back pre-surgery area seemed nice. It was weird to have so many different folks back there w/ their knee, back, etc. surgeries going on and being young, old, etc.! I was very anxious to talk to the anesthesiologist because I had a bad experience w/ my last time going under. That time I threw up a lot afterward, and I hated the chills I went through trying to wake up. I did get to discuss these concerns w/ the anesthesiologist, and he agreed that he would give me a shot of fenegren and something else to combat the nausea afterward. Whatever he did worked, I could go back and give him a bunch of roses! I did not throw up, or have chills. So gals, if you have experienced this stuff before, just make it clear that they need to do something to prevent it. Finally my PS came in to mark me up. I got all nervous and was waffling about size, again. We had decided on 320CCs at the pre-op, then I called and said let's do 330CCs. Then I was wondering if that was too big. Oh, you know how it is. I told her all of that and then threw on top, "I just don't want to look ridiculous". I mean, for someone who had nothing, and for somebody who doesn't want to look very noticeable. My PS said she wouldn't make me look ridiculous, and that she would look at the sizes when she was placing them. She did do 330CCs, and they look just right. So afterward, it took me forever to wake up, maybe all of that anti-nausea stuff made me more drowsy. I was very tired, but we had to go and pick up my DD4 at preschool, so I tried my best to get going. I had to sit in the car in the parking lot while my DH went inside to pick up my baby. I was just hoping that nobody would see me sitting there! I think the hardest part of all of this is trying to hide it all from my 2 kids. My oldest is only 7, and she isn't very precocious at all, so she wouldn't add all of this up and *know* what was going on. I decided to tell her that my back really hurt, and that I had to go to the Dr. So far she is buying it. My little one saw the "big band aid" wrapped around me, and wants to take care of me. It's all so sweet. So my post-op wasn't until Friday, which was 2 days after my procedure. I finally got the big band-aid off, and got to see my boobies. Yikes! I guess I could say they were Frankenboobs. Not so bad on the top side, but the bottom boobs were almost like upside-down triangles, w/ the bottom of the boob is the smallest. My PS then told me I would have to massage, or push down on the breasts for 20 mins. (10 mins ea) 3 times a day. That's an hour of pushing on them, and it does not feel so good. My upper arms are sore as it is, and to have to push down like that is difficult. But I do want them to drop down into the pocket and look good, like so many of the boobs I have seen here, so I am doing it. I did a TUBA incision, and I still have this foam pad thing taped to the front of my abdominal area. I am not sure what that is all about, but the PS won't take it off until my next appt. which could have been Monday, but my DH can't do the kid exchange thing until Tuesday, so I have to wait until then. So I will go a whole week w/o taking a shower! And this is w/ an incision that isn't even a big deal, thru my belly button! So far I haven't left the house except to go to my post-op. I don't know what we are going to do tomorrow for Mother's Day, but I wouldn't mind just sticking around here! I did buy this dry shampoo stuff (Ojon Rub Out shampoo) but still. A few things I thought of, that have been addressed by other gals: Constipation: Yes. I did experience it. I had been taking 2 Darvocets every 4 hours, and I think this, w/ the whole anesthesia thing, causes it. I finally took some Metamucil last night, and this morning had to go. It was rough though.(Sorry TMI!) As soon as that was over with, I drank some mineral oil, which someone here said worked. I should have taken that earlier. Sleeping on an angle: Yes, it is hard. I figured out a way, maybe helpful for someone else. I have 2 half pillows, decorative, that I just park under each arm, and make like a tent over me. Sort of the way a portly person would relax, w/ their arms clasped over their belly. It feels much better to me to have my arms a little bit away from my body. And, w/ kids, it protects you from them accidentally hurting you. And these pillows help keep you from tipping over, which I did do when I tried to sleep this way before I figured out using the pillows. If I think of anything else, I'll edit. Hope this helps some of you. Thanks to all of you gals whose stories I was able to read before, so that I could be better prepared. Hugs!

Congratulations!! I had my BA the day after you, so its nice to read about your experience and not feel so alone on my end! I like your idea about how you arranged the pillows at your sides. I think I've been trying to accomplish something similar with one on my stomach, but I'll have to try your way, which sounds like exactly what I need to do to be comfortable. Thanks for sharing and best wishes for a smooth recovery!

I got Inamed Natrelle 320cc HP filled to 330CCs, style 68HP. I have my ID card right here. It's pretty cool because now I will never be an unidentified dead body because the implants have serial numbers. I watch a lot of CSI! LOL! I filled out my form for the "Confidence Plus Platinum Limited Warranty Option" today. Whoo hoo! Oh yeah, I have an ace bandage-type strap above my boobs. It doesn't seem sturdy enough to be really doing anything, but it does make my skin itchy because it is tight. Another reason to be doing my massages often, so I can get rid of that strap. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't even notice anything different under my big tee shirt. HTH!
