my Pre op today! Long

So I went in for my post op today. I was excited and nervous and ready to get all the last details taken care (well, most of them).

My Doc took me in and we talked for awhile. I told him about this site and moreso about the forum and the WONDERFUL ladies on here. He asked me about some of the things I've discussed on here and without giving away any details (I do respect the privacy of everyone here) I did tell him about things like the "what I wish I would have had post op" thread and discussions on everything from Arnica to massage, to CC, to hematoma's etc. I told him I was very impressed because although everyone is open and sharing with their own experiences they are very very good (and responsible) about sticking with "do what your doctor says" for each person. He was impressed and asked if I thought he should link to this site from his site. I told him I thought he should have his girls in the office check it out and if they thought so then yes, but that I don't know how I would have made it this far, let alone through the surgery itself WITHOUT this site. He told the nurse to make sure to check it out and get a link up to it. Later, the girl who handles scheduling and stuff told me she plans to put it up too. So yay that! More women potentially getting help before it's too late to change their minds.

Anyway, we went through all the possible complications, set up my prescriptions and here I got yet another surprise. First of all, he asked me if I wanted a sleeping pill. I told him that because I have issues with insomnia anyway, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea. No problem. He gave me a small script (only 15 pills) but that's great, he's not overdoing the dope, but making sure I'll be okay at the same time.

He also gave me Valium, Vicodin and Cephalexin. Then he said he wanted to put me on Doxycyclin. He said that CC is believed to possibly come from low level infection and this would help prevent that BUT he also said "the second benefit is that it will clear up your acne". I've had acne FOREVER. It's not horrible horrible, but it is annoying and at 40 it's embarrassing. My mom is in her 60s and has the same problem. He said I could try it now and if I like the results he'll keep me on it!! It's like a special bonus prize!

So after that he took my "before" pictures and I asked some more questions. Mostly about the lipo he's going to do and a slight concern with possible asymmetry problems. My right nipple points "out" slightly and I'm a little afraid of what it's going to do when the implant is in. If he needs to move it I'm okay with that but I haven't signed off on it yet. I had told him maybe it would be best to wait but the more I think about it, the more I think maybe I should talk to him about it and sign consent BEFORE I go in and let him make the call. The reason I think this makes sense is because it would mean potentially only going under anesthetic once and would save some cost on a second procedure. I don't know. Opinions? I think I'll at least discuss it with him.

So that was that and now I'm crawling out of my skin with excitement.

By the way I get the odd pimple on my chin
still and I'm 34...I get it from chocolate...they say
chocolate doesn't give pimples...but that's bs

Unfortunately this isn't just the odd pimple. It's full blown breakouts..my chin, my cheeks, forehead, etc. All the time

My dermatologist told me that acne really common for women in their 30s, like me (and you, apparently...). He instructed me to use an over-the-counter acne wash with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) in it. I chose Neutrogena mask/cleanser (in a plastic tube), and it works GREAT. Love that it's cheaper than a scrip, too.

Not sure if that would be cheaper. I got a 3 month supply of doxycycline for 10 bucks thanks to insurance

As for the op...wow...4 work days and 3 off days left. I'm a nervous wreck..lol

I have to admit..this PS is better than I ever could have hoped for.

I have a g/f that had gastric bypass and she's waiting to get all her surgery done from that. She was set on a doctor in Beverly Hills since 2005. Then she saw work mine has done and heard me talking about him and now I think she's actually changed her mind. After being hell bent on this other doc for 3 YEARS.

I do know that going in knowing you guys will send me good thoughts is making it a LOT better though
