My boobs look amazing! Day two...
OK, so it was yesterday morning. Got up at 4 am and showered. We were ready to go by 4:45 and hopped in the car and drove an hour. At 6 am they took my info and a short while later a very funny Jamaican nurse came and got me. In fact she announced me as Princess Jessica Moore to the entire waiting room of people. So I did a beauty queen wave and my husband followed me to the pre-surg station. First I peed in a cup, whew not preggo. Took off all my clothes, put on a gown, no undies! Weird. Sterile field and wasn't allowed. My lovely Jamaican nurse started my IV and seriously was the best one ever. It took her one second to get it and three to tape it. No pain at all. Talked to the wonderful anesthesiologist and the nurse anesthnestist(sp?) and they were awesome. The nurse even went and got my some stuff for my dry lips. Doc came in, seemed crabby or maybe just tired, and said one or two things to me and drew on me. Not much of a bedside but I really didn't care. NA came in a gave me some Versed... Yeah. Got into the OR and they had me jump tables and they put a mask over my face and that was it. Woke up feeling pretty alert and not in pain. He had given me anesthetic in the pockets that last 4-6 hours. When I was in recovery DH said they looked good and they did start to swell a bit so the wonderful nurse there gave me some ice and we talked about her wanting boobs too. She has seen many of my Doc's work and wants him to do it but wants to wait until he has his own surgical suite so the people she's every day at work don't have to see her. That made me feel really good, she also had two of her family members use him.
Went to the car and started to feel a bit so DH drove to find me a bagel and chocolate milk. Took one percoset and ate. My mom came and picked me up from DH over by where he works as he couldn't skip, big meeting today. I'd honestly rather have my mom anyway! The pain increased and I was pretty uncomfortable and had to start taking two percosets. Made me nauseous, yuck! I didn't sleep at all during the day. Nurse from hospital called and we talked awhile and she gave some good suggestions. Doc called a bit later and I asked him about just taking tylenol and he said no, he thinks I would be in way too much pain. Wanted me to keep with the percoset and try to get through the bad side effects and he'd get me something different today if I want it. So, I cut back to one perc and that was better, got some sleep, waking up when it wore off. Got up ate, took another. This morning I went a whole 5 hours without one and I felt pretty good. It burns a bit. Okay I have to gush. They look frickin fantastic! Ya, they are swollen but I am already so in love. When they go down I hope they will look like I am imagining they will. I am going to try to make a yahoo group today. I think I need to lay back down now after all this typing though... |

Ok Jess i am glad for you. I told you the nurses were wonderful.Bet we had the same anestesiologist. Sweet lady.. Glad you are feeling well enough to type..
Now, follow instructions and rest and no lifting.. I got funky undies , it was that time.. Better sterrile than infection. He did tell me i work in a very sterrile enviroment..Infection was my #1 fear. I have seen quite few on here.. Dr. B is all business the day of surg..Work and concentrate and done..I would be much more worried if he wasn't. I am sure he was just tired 1st thing in the am..

She was a very sweet Indian lady. They all took such great care of me. As far as Dr. B goes, I know a ton of doctors and typically the ones who are brilliant lack a bit on bedside, and those are the ones I want taking care of me. In fact, one doc I used to work for was actually quite a jerk but insanely smart and the one person who I would want if I were dying. Part of me thinks that Dr. B is shy. HE's all about business and that's fine with me. I did tell him last night that my boobs look fantastic and he said I looked beautiful when he did them. I feel a bit better with one perc and one tylenol and I am sitting here typing with an ice pack I have that has a velcro strap that wraps around me chest... like it's made for a BA! I slept with ice all night too. When does the swelling start to subside?

Congratulations! I've seen a couple of your posts - since our BAs are a day apart I've been relating to everything you've gone through up until now - so I was hoping you had posted! My BA is today! I swear, I've been going up and down non-stop through being excited and then wondering if I made a mistake - such an emotional rollercoaster. Last night my husband took my "before" photos - ha ha ha ha ha! I know I will NEVER doubt this decision again! I should upload them from my camera quick and print them out to look at while I am in pain, so I can remember what I looked like!
But thanks for your story - I can't wait to look down and be excited (not dread!) what I see!

It's awesome to hear that you are so happy with them on day 2. There are so many girls on here doubting thier decisions, but it looks like you got just what you wanted.
