Talking Day 5 now... feeling pretty good... here's the story

Day of BA (Wednesday, May 14): I got to the surgery center at 7:45 exactly. I did the pregnancy test right away. They brought the hubby and I to the pre-op room. The IV THANKFULLY didn't hurt. At 9:20ish, Dr. Horn came in and marked me up. They wheeled me to the OR where I remember them putting the warm boots on my legs and giving me an oxygen mask. Then...I woke up an hour later in a lot of pain. They gave me pain meds that didn't help. I vomited. It came time to leave, still in a ton of pain I walked out. We had about a 50 min ride home because of traffic. As soon as we pulled in the driveway I vomited all the way to our door. Tried to eat. Got sick. Tried to take pain meds... got sick. This pretty much happened for the duration of the day.

Day 2. Until my post-op I was in excruciating pain. Apparently vicodin doesn't work so well on me. But my wrap is off now... so I can breathe and I'm starting to feel a little better. I will be starting a new pain med as soon as my food is done being cooked by my wonderful hubby. I def look big... but not scary... and they need to drop still.
I went to my post-op today and this loud mouth bitchy lady was giving the secretary the 1st degree and insisting that Dr. Horn see her right away. They brought this lady to a room right away. I sat in the waiting room for 10-15 min which actually started pissing me off because I had an appt (unlike that lady) and I WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN (also unlike her). Finally they brought me to the post-op room where Dr. Horn took off my ACE wrap and I got to see my big beautiful boobies for the 1st time. I felt soooo free when he took the wrap off. It actually made me feel a whole lot better right then. He prescribed a different kind of pain killer. This afternoon has been pretty pleasant. I took a nice comfortable nap and woke up with no pain at all. I ate a lot of food that my great husband cooked for me- he's been wonderful. I'm up and about now. Talked on the phone with my mom and a couple friends without spilling the beans. I decided not to tell anyone and so far the plan has worked. I feel like it is a personal decision. The discomfort comes and goes. It is mostly posture related. I have almost no pain. My boobs are sitting high... I know they'll drop in time.

Day 3: Now that I have my new meds (the ones that work with my body) I feel like a new woman! The pain is almost entirely gone. YAY! This afternoon has actually been pretty pleasant. I'm still having difficulties standing straight up and of course, am being very careful not to do anything stupid, like lifting.

Day 5: I've been off pain meds since the middle of Day 3. I'm feeling pretty good overall. I worked a little on Friday and Saturday. The worst thing for me is that my muscles feel REALLY tight. I try to massage but they barely move. Oh yeah... and my posture sucks!!! I'm hunched over like an old lady and my stomach is bloated. I feel like everything will be good once my shoulder and chest muscles loosen up some. Dr. Horn very briefly described how to massage but didn't show me. Was he supposed to show me? I keep wondering if I should be pushing harder, using a little more force overall. I'm so afraid to even touch them. I'm silly. I know. I'm curious about the whole D&F process. Even though I didn't want to look like a porn star I WAS expecting to be a little larger than this. I did get 533 ccs after all!

Congrats on feeling better! My BA is on this wednesday, i'm super nervous and excited!!

Just curious, what pain meds did they end up giving you after the vicodin? My PS is giving me Percocet (narcotic) and Flexeril (muscle relaxer) but from past surgery experiences i know those should be fine for me

Pain Meds

They ended up prescribing Darvocet A500 (or Darvocet-N). I got the generic brand called Propo-N/APAP 100. I felt better almost as soon as I took them! This is what Web MD has to say about it:

This combination medication is used to treat mild to moderate pain. Darvocet A500 is a narcotic pain reliever (opiate-type) that acts on certain centers in the brain to give you pain relief. Acetaminophen is a non-narcotic pain reliever. Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. It may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs, however, the drug may not work as well. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to reduce stomach upset (e.g., antihistamines, lying down for 1-2 hours with minimal head movement). Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Pain medications work best if used when the first signs of pain occur. If you wait until the pain worsens, this medication may not work as well. Use this medication exactly as prescribed. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of Darvocet A500 (600mg per day). Do not increase your dose, take it more often or use it longer than prescribed because it can be habit-forming. If this drug is prescribed for an extended period of time, do not suddenly stop using it without your doctor's approval. When used for an extended period, this medication may not work as well and may require different dosing. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well.

I want to rant a little...

Here's my rant...

When I tried on the samples at the doctor's office I was popping out of my shirts. I brought 4 shirts to see what the size I was going for would look like in clothing. I tried on 500 ccs -- the dress shirts wouldn't even button and my t-shirts were soooooo tight! This was the look I was going for. ( I wanted them to look big in tight clothing but had purposefully purchased other clothing so I could disguise them when needed)

SOOOO... I ordered 533 ccs knowing that implants look smaller under clothing. Well, I had my BA a little over a week ago (Last Wed) and I don't even look like I have implants when I wear clothes. In fact, in a shirt I probably only look like a B or (really small) C. No kidding.

I have NO IDEA why my boobs looked so big when trying on the samples and so disappointingly small now. Granted, they make my body look more proportionate and even slightly sexy in a bathing suit or nude... BUT NOT IN CLOTHES.

My DH keeps saying "I told you that you should have gotten more ccs" which just PISSES ME OFF for so many reasons. I think the thing that makes me the most sad is that I THOUGHT that I WAS going super large and that I'd be having to disguise my audaciously huge boobs. Instead I'm trying to make it look like I have some.

In no way do I blame my PS. The breasts are proportionate, the scars are minimal, and my recovery has been pretty easy thus far.

I don't think anyone could have predicted that my body would swallow my implants. WHY!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

At first none of this bothered me. For some strange reason I thought that when my boobs "dropped" that they'd look bigger. Well, now they are starting to drop... and don't look bigger.

WHY!?!?!?!??!?!?!?
