The girls have arrived! And boy, do they feel funky!
Hey everyone! I finally had my BA done yesterday around noon!! So here's my story...
Woke up around 7am, even though I didn't have to be at the hospital until 10:30. I was really anxious I guess. I took a long, hot shower, brushed my teeth, and then nothing much after that since I couldn't eat/drink or put on makeup. I ended up watching some tv and playing on the internet. My mom picked me up around 10am, and it only took us about 15 minutes to get to the hospital. My mom was freaking out b/c she hates walking back to garages by herself and has the most awful sense of direction. I had to assure her that it was going to be ok and she could get directions from the nurses. My mom cracks me up. Arrived at the hospital and signed in. As my mom and I sat down in the waiting room, I grabbed a US weekly for my mom to read. She quickly exclaimed, "Hey! That's exactly the magazine I wanted to read!" I had no idea my mom was into celebrity tabloids, but that just made me think I was really her daughter. One of the nurses called me in not too long after that. She directed me into a room and told me to take everything off and change into the gown. My fiancee then called me and said he was running late and that he was having clothing issues. He couldn't figure out what he wanted to wear! I told him that I had already been called in and didn't know if he would be able to see me. He got sad but I told him to come anyway and keep my mom company in the waiting room. I went to take a pee break and waited awhile for the nurse to give me a blood test to see if I was pregnant and to administer my IV. Before the nurse came back in though, my fiancee and my mom came into the room! My fiancee had the cutest smile on his face. I think he was really happy to finally have made it and be able to see me before surgery. My fiancee and mom watched as the nurse took my blood and gave me the IV. We all started chatting about random stuff like going to watch musicals and plays. The nurse recommended some good shows to see. I told her my fiancee didn't like plays, which I was abruptly interrupted by my FI who corrected me and said he liked live plays but not movies that are musicals. So now my FI and I are trying to plan a good play to go to once I've recovered a bit! Finally, my PS came in to mark me up. He met my mom and FI and got to talk to them for the 1st time. They both really liked my PS and I knew they would! He's very calming and reassuring. I then shooed away my mom and FI so the PS could mark me up. He started drawing dotted lines in the middle of my sternum and then half circles around my breasts. He told me not to worry, that these marks were not going to be my incisions. I thought that was pretty funny. My PS then left and started talking with my my mom and FI outside the room. The nurse then came back in and asked me if I wanted to take a Valium to calm my nerves, and I, of course, said, "Sure!" Then another nurse later came in and injected some more nerve calming substances into my IV. Next, the anesthesiologist came in to discuss the general anesthesia they were going to give me. She was really nice and went step by step on how it worked in my body, even though I really didn't understand a lot of the medical lingo. She suggested that I think about a really nice dream I want to have when they give me the anesthesia. When she finished her spiel, I was starting to feel really good and floaty from the Valium when the nurse said it was time. I waved goodbye to my mom and FI and was wheeled into the surgery room.I arrived at the surgery room and remember thinking that the lights were way too bright. They moved me onto another bed/table and I remember hearing the anesthesiologist say, "Ok, this is the time to think of that really nice dream..." Then all of a sudden, I heard someone calling out my name. I started coming to and noticed that I was in a recovery room and the nurse wanted to see if I was ok. My BA was done! The nurse gave me some anti-nausea medicine, crackers, and a drink. The whole top part of my body ached and was very, very tight. It felt like having a really bad charley horse on your chest! Ugh... After about 30 minutes, the nurse gave me a couple of Tylenol-3s to help ease the pain and asked if I was ready to go home. I told him no and decided to lay on the bed for a while longer. My mom helped feed me to make sure I didn't get nauseous. My FI had left since he could not miss work. The nurse helped prop me up on the bed, which I think was the most excruciating part. It hurt so bad that I was almost going to cry but I held it in. I finally sat up and not too long after that my mom went to go pull her car up to the front. The nurse then wheeled me up to my mom's car and away we went... I pretty much slept upright on my sofa for most of the day and night. My younger sister was super sweet and stayed to take care of me. She even took out the pits from my cherries! I only took one Vicodin yesterday and an antibiotic. I think the Vicodin makes me feel nauseous so I'm going to take some Tylenol instead today. I am still super tight in my chest. I can't really move my arms above the elbow, which makes me feel gimpy and I have that "elephant on my chest" feeling. Can't really breathe right or talk very loud. And who knew I used chest muscles to pee?! If anyone can shed some light on how long this super tight uncomfortable feeling will last, please do! My PS says I can take a shower today, but I really don't feel up to it. Haven't even taken off my bra to see what the girls look like. I'm kinda afraid to! I have to start my new job on Monday and hope that I will be able to drive by then. Thanks for listening to me everyone! I'm just glad I get to add my story to the list! |

Glad to finally be in Boobieville too! It's a great feeling to know that I will look great in clothing (and bikini) and finally get rid of my padded bras!! Whoo! I'm going to give my sister a few of my cute bras that I hardly wore. It's good to know that I will finally be in proportion and look good without a padded bra (or bra for that matter). They were the only things that gave me a decent shape!
