Smile I made it safely to Boobieville ;)

Wow, what a journey this has been!!! I've been thinking about what I'm going to say when it's my turn to tell my BA story, but I don't think I have enough time or space. LOL Well here it goes. On Thursday morning, May 22nd my mother and I got up to head to the hospital. The hospital was 45 min away so we got up super early. I don't know if it was nerves, or if I had my head scarf on to tight, or if I had a sinus issues, but I had a mean headache when I woke up that morning. Anyway, I shook it off and said you've come to far to let something like that stop you, and if it's really serious then they'll just reschedule, better safe then sorry.

Good news by the time I got to the hospital the pain was still there but not as bad. Well, by the time we walked in the hospital door I was being wisked away to go sign in and go get vitals and take the pregnancy test. (which I knew was going to be negative, unless I was giving birth to the second coming ) LOL Once that was over with, they took me into the dressing room where, I had to put on the standard uniform, ( leg warmer, brown socks, paper gown and the lovely paper robe) By that time they let my mom come back and stay with me. She's such a sweetie, she tried to make me do some crossword puzzles to keep my mind off things. There was a young child back there and for some reason just loved making these squealing noises every five minutes...GREAT!!! Finally the anestitist (sic) came back and started my IV of fluids biggest needle I've ever seen and that when things really got into high gear. My wonderful DR came back and did his markings, by that time my mother's inner Speilgberg came out and she was asking me and my Dr to pose for picture LOL. Once he was complete with that and my mother had hugged and kissed everyone who would be taking care of me, we were off to the OR. From there I remember be placed on a heated bed, and these funny boot things being place on my feet. The oxygen mask was next and it was off to La LA land ....

It was the weirdest thing waking up because I felt like my eyes just popped open but I couldn't see a damn thing and my throat hurt like hell. Come to find out, the headache that I had that morning was because of my sinuses and with everything that was happening all of that stuff just drained down in my throat which normally happens when I have these issues. So on top of all of the pain I felt in my chest, I had to keep coughing to get that crap out of my throat. Bad, Bad Bad feeling.

Anyway, the nurse I had was a little to brusque with me, you know trying to get me to walk on my own, and I almost fell. By that time my mom was back there and had already told here to chill out and slow down and you can only imagine when the falling incident happened. All 5'0'' of my little mom was in this nurses chest cursing her out. Needless to say I got a new nurse who had more patience with me. With my mom being satisfied that I was safely in the wheelchair, she went to get the car and the wheeled me out to where my dad was who helped me get into the car. Besides all the ruckus in the Recovery room, my sore throat and the pain, I would do it all over again. I am so happy with my new girls "Margie and Rita" whose names where choosen at a Mexican Restaurant. Viva la Mexico!!!

Thanks for all of the love and support and I was thinking of all of you the whole time!!

Big *HUGS*

Hooray!!!! So glad that we both made it through the 22nd of May!!!

Sorry about that ugly nurse. I swear the nurse you get makes all the difference in the world. I would have fallen had my nurse not been so patient with me because my blood sugar totally dropped when I stood up.

Your mother sounds fantastic! Glad she was there for ya'

Now on to our recovery.........hope everything goes smoothly for you!!!

Welcome Margie and Rita! That's great!!!

What's the deal with crabby health care professionals??? Good for your mom....that's the last thing you needed to deal with!

Best wishes for a comfortable and speedy recovery. Keep us posted on your progress!!

That's funny about your mom. Sorry about your nurse rushing you. I don't get why she would do that. My nurse let me lay there awake and jabbering away like a goon, haha. I remember her saying to focus on using my stomach muscles to sit up, and she was going to help push me up, but they must have given me awesome painkillers in the IV, because I sat up like nothing, and it didn't hurt at all. She was surprised. I think she let me sit there for a while before asking me if I thought I could walk. She invited my mom and husband in, and they helped me out to the truck.

After that, it took me a week or so before I could sit up by myself! Haha.
