Sorry for the Long Boring Story..just want to share with you all.
I woke up yesterday Morning Calm as can be. I was SOOOO excited. I have been unhappy with my breasts since I was 15. I have always felt uneven and incomplete and FINALLY the day had come when I was finally going to feel like a woman..not some teenage girl. My Mom flew in from Florida to take care of me. I think having her here is what calmed me down. My Surgery was scheduled for 12:30, so we decided to go run a few errands. We got back to the house around 10:30 and I received a call from the nurse. She said they were running ahead of schedule and they wanted me to go in a 11:30. I was like..WOO HOO, Boobie time is coming early. So, I hopped in the shower and got ready and then headed out around 11:15. When we go there, they took me to go do my Pregnancy test and I changed into my gown. They gave me the most comfy socks I have ever worn. I had never taken a pregnancy test so the nurse had to explain what to do..she actually asked me to pee in a cup and then dip the stick in the cup after I was done. . When I laid on the recliner waiting for my PS to mark me, they gave me a really warm blanket...it was nice! The nurse went over a ton of info with me..then the doc came in to mark me. She has little bed manners, at least she did with my pre-op and consult, but she was soooo nice and comforting yesterday. The anesthesiologist came in and put in my IV..OUCH you jerk, that hurt! I started to get a little nervous..I was thiking..if this hurts this bad..I am going to be miserable after the BA was done..I kept repeating..stay calm..be positive or my mind is going to think it hurts worse than it is. They filled my IV with an antibiotic and then 3 minutes later they said if was time for my happy medicine. I had never had surgery before, but I have gone through 2 with my DH, so I knew it would be gone in seconds. I told my DH I loved him and then said, "Bye, Bye". The next thing I remember was the nurse asking me to drink some sprite and eat some crackers so she could give me a pain killer pill. She told me I was a little feisty with another nurse when they were trying to wake me up. After the pill, she asked me to take 20 deep breaths. It hurt a little but I wasn't in agony. I couldn't believe the pain was so mild. Don't get me wrong..I hurt, but it's manageable. I did not feel nauseas until they moved me from the bed to a recliner. Even then after a couple minutes I was fine. I am thinking the Transederm patch the doc had me put on before surgery really helped. The rest of the time I just chatted with the nurses. The nurses kept asking me if I really was 30 years old..I told them I hope now that I have breasts that people will finally think I was older than I look! My Mom and My DH came in and the nurse gave them instructions. They let me out an hour later. My DH said I kept dosing in and out on the ride home. I did manage to tell him I wanted a bagel and a chocolate donut because I was starving. I went home and slept most of the afternoon and evening. I was in pain, but it was not terrible at all. I had a little tough time sleeping that night as I am a side sleeper so I wasn't too comfortable..my back ached! Getting out of bed this morning was the most pain I have felt so far, but again..it was bearable. I think the combination of the pain killers and the pain pump is helping me with pain. Today has been great. I am trying to sleep as much as possible. The pain subsided within 20 minutes after I got out of bed this morning. I feel great right now..I have little to no pain. I took a peek at my breasts this morning. I am covered with huge gauze, but I was able to get an idea of size and noticed as far as I can tell that I have no bruising. I went for a short walk with My Mom and Dog a little while ago. I felt fine, it was nice to get out and enjoy the sun for a few minutes. So far recovery is going fantastic. I think staying on schedule to take pain medicine is helping a ton. I can't complain. I can't take the gauze out until Sunday. I started a yahoo group to post pics. I'll take pics on Sunday and I will share with everybody. Anyways, I am sooo happy so far..I hope recovery continues to be this smooth. Thanks JBI friends for all the support!

Hey Girly!
I'm so proud of you! I'm glad that it is not as bad as you thought, but remember to take it easy! I've read some posts where the ladies have really overdone it, and then regretted it. Don't be one of them! ![]() Aaaww, you give me inspiration! |
