My Story from London England

Well here I am in the land of Boobieville!! I cant quite believe im writing this after months and months of reading this forum. I am on day four and still feeling a bit tight with VERY itchy scars!!

My whole experience has been fantastic. My surgeon - Mr Erian has been really great with the staff at his hospital in Cambridge, England even more wonderful!!! I went for my consultantation in Harley Street in London (where i live) but had my surgury in Cambridge where he has his own hospital in the grounds of his "stately home". Yes - "stately home" so he was always on call if a problem arose - thankfully it didnt.

I arrived on time and checked into my room and met my roomie, then put my robe on ordered my dinner for the eve then lay down and read mags. I arrived at 9.15 and went into surgury for 11.15 after Mr Erian had a last feel at my saggy boobs and went thru again, what i wanted to achieve. We also had fun and jokes with the nurse Shirley who was assigned to me for my stay at the Cambridge Private Hospital.

I was wheeled into the OR and then panic set in, before that I was eurphoric !!! One minute i was chatting the guys in the theatre room up, the next i was awake in recovery complaining of a headache and asking for some paracetomol!! I also remember feeling the stinging sensation in my creases where I had been cut!! I must of then fallen back to sleep as I woke up in my room with my roomie smiling at me - she went in before me. After being given some headache tabs (headache still there!!) I got myself up (much to the nurses dismay) and looked at my new boobs in the bathroom mirror - wow, they were massive but lovely!!! Then the nurses helped me into my sports bra and settled me back to sleep. No drains were used - Mr Erian doesnt use them (not sure why). Anyway, i then woke up - still minimal pain, had a chat, watched TV, read some more mags, had a walk up and down the ward, ate a lovely dinner, had a milky drink and cookies before bedtime and went to sleep. I managed to sleep from 11pm to 5am, but im not good at sleeping elavated nor on my back (im a tummy sleeper and boy am i missing it!!)

The following morning the pain was still minimal, Mr Erian checked me out again and said he was happy with the result so far, then I waited for my ride to pick me up. Day 2 and 3 have been my hardest as the swelling as kicked in. Day four I feel quite tight and itchy!! Plus I can feel the fluid in my boobs. I called the hospital who informed me that this was a normal symptom and that the fluid will flush away in my body. Well lets hope so hey!!???

Yes, I agree with everyone, what a wonderful place to have surgery!
My PS didn't use drains either and said the same thing as your hospital did, the fluid will drain on it's own. I was VERY bloated though for a solid week! That whole week, every time I looked down, I saw my huge belly before I saw my new boobies. It was a bit depressing, but I had to keep reminding myself that it was only temporary and by the end of the first week, my belly looked MUCH better.

Im soooo glad u told me about the bloated belly - mine is rock hard and I cant quite get my head around it. I weighed myself this morning and and 6lbs heavier too !! Devasted to say the least but I guess thats normal right???? My boobs are rather swollen and I can hear the fluid moving around my breasts. I hope it goes away soon.
