OMG!!! I did it!!!!
Okay, so I have to say, I had the absolute BEST experience ever!!!!
First of all, my ba was scheduled for Wed. 6/4, with a check-in time of 11:30. So, I got up early (about 7:00) to get myself showered. I decided that I could use the extra time to get my wedge pillow, alarm clock for my meds, and my bed ready, for when I got home. At about 8:00, I got a call from my ps, saying that they could take me at 9:30 instead, if I was ready. Hello?!* I didn't even have to think about it! lol Well, my husband drove me to the office for my check-in paperwork, and I waited.....and waited! Apparently there was a young lady that wasn't doing as well in the recovery room, so they were trying to get her situated before bringing me back. When my time finally came, the nurse had me undress and empty my bladder. She then took me to a little room, where she explained the procedures (mastopexy and augmentation) and verified the size and type of implant. While she was taking my vital signs, my ps walked in. He asked me if I was nervous, and I said..."a little!" He said, "me too, but don't worry, I've watched the video, and it looks easy enough!" lol I LOVE this guy! He was just what I needed to make me feel at ease. Anyway, after he finished marking up my breasts for the procedures, he talked to my husband for a bit, answering questions and such, to put his mind at ease too. I think he was more nervous than I was! lol Well, the time came to say our "goodbyes," and so my dh left. I then followed the anesthesiologist to the OR, where she had me lay on a table that had the arms stretched out to the side. All I could think was "crucifixion!" lol While she was starting my IV, and shooting me up, she was telling me about her son, and how he was reading "Macbeth" by Shakespeare in his English class. Welp, that was the last thing I remember..... When I woke up in the recovery room, I felt kinda dizzy, but not in pain. I felt more pressure than anything else. I remember looking down and saying, "wow, they're finally here! And they look good!" The nurse laughed, and said that I did exceptionally well, and that I was coming around fast enough, for her to bring my husband and mom back to see me. Within those few minutes it took them to come back, I came around about 90%. The most uncomfortable part at that point, was the elastic band they put around me to keep the implants down. When I got home, I didn't feel pain AT ALL; just pressure. That night, I was paranoid that all of the stuff they gave me during surgery, would wear off, so I took 2 percocet every 4 hours that night. The following morning, I still only felt discomfort, so I decided to wean off to 1 percocet every 4 hours. That afternoon, my dh took me to the mall to walk around (the nurse suggested it, to avoid blood clots). I got home that night, and continued with only 1 percocet/4 hours, with less pressure than the day before. Yesterday, I decided to go ahead and drop the percocet and switch to ibuporfen. I did, and it has been just fine for me. I had my ba Wed, and it is now Sat, and I have abosolutely NO pressure/pain. I have begun massaging, and it actually feels good! My incisions do not hurt at all, the only discomfort, if you want to call it that, is some slight twinges when I massage. I guess after having 2 c-sections, a foot surgery, and a tubal ligation, pain is kinda relative for me. I have been VERY fortunate, in that my ba has been virtually painless. I do feel like a sap, though. When I took my shower yesterday, and saw what I looked like in the mirror (even though they are torpedo boobs!), I cried. I wish I would have done this so much sooner! Thanks so much for all of your support! You have all been extremely helpful and reassuring....I couldn't not have gotten through this with my sanity without all of you! From the bottom of my <3........
