2 weeks post op in England
Well! I still can't believe I've done it! But most of all, I cannot believe what a difference a couple of weeks makes!
I had my ba in London on 22nd May 08, but wasn't taken care of so well. I have no complaints about my surgeon, Mr Malik, however, I felt that I wasn't kept in the picture too well. I had to arrive at the hospital several hours prior to surgery, as I needed a heparin injection as there's a history of blood clotting in my family. I was left in my (rather nice) room for over 4 hours, with no knowlege of when they'd be fetching me down to the operating theatre. At 11.40 someone finally came to fetch me - came round from anaesthetic at about 12.45 and nobody even told me that it had gone well - I had to shout over to someone walking around in the recovery room to ask them!! I had an overnight stay, but was very sick from the anaesthetic and Tramadol. When it came to taking my drains out the following morning, one of them got stuck and she had to call a doctor on call to help her remove it - not the nicest feeling in the world, I can tell you!! I had a nice chat with a girl in the lift on the way out of the hospital who had also had a ba...she looked as grey and sick as me! And as we were all leaving the lift, the door began to close and her boob got caught in it - poor soul, she did scream! Hope she is alright now! We then began a 4 hour car journey home to Nottingham from London which wasn't the most comfortable, plus I vomited twice in the car, lovely. Oh - I didn't mention that the day I was discharged was my BIRTHDAY!! Stupidly thought it would be a nice idea to have them done as a gift to myself, but hadn't anticpated how crap I would feel on my birthday!! Boo Hoo!! Well, I knew after researching that sub muscular was a longer, more painful recovery, but had never prepared myself for the pain I had. The pain relief they prescribed continued to make me sick and I just couldn't sleep very well at night. The elastic strap they put around me under my armpits was making red sores and I was desperate to take it off! I experienced alot of burning type pains, but kept some cold gel packs in the freezer to put on them to ease the hotness!! Plus I felt the pressure on my chest too, I had to use my inhaler a few times as I found it difficult to breathe occasionally. End of the first week was getting so much easier - I initially had trouble getting up in the mornings to go to the loo, and was needing a push-up out of bed, but by the end of the week I was able to get up (slowly) un aided, and even press the flush on the loo (which I could'nt do before)! I was also up and out of bed - had stopped vomitting and was walking a little straighter (rather than walking like a hunchback)! I was keen to celebrate my birthday, but couldn't drink alcohol due to the antibiotics, but I didn't mind so much - I was happy just to be feeling better!! Went for my 2nd check last Thurs (2 weeks post op) and they trimmed the ends off my disolvable stitches and took my 'post op' boobie photos....I am so pleased with how they look now, and the elastic strap has gone and I can finally drive my car again! The nurse was really pleased with my progress, and said they were 'perfect'! Looking back on the whole experience, I would recommend my surgeon as he did an amazing job - its everything I was hoping for, having started as a B and going up to a D, but not looking like 'porn star' ball shaped boobs (just wanted a nice natural look, which is exactly what I've got)! I would not, however , recommend The Harley Medical Group, as I feel the money I spent deserved better support and information. I was really anxious prior to the op as I'd never had a general anaesthetic before. I just felt a bit like a number in the hosptial - a little compassion and care goes a long way in my book, and it was pretty none existant! Am off to Thailand for christmas this year, and cannot wait to show them off on the beach!! Yippee!! |

Congrats and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I think did get yourself an awesome bday pressie, even if it wasn't all sunshine & roses on the day, haha! Just think next year you will have one year old boobies, sweet.Interesting comment re HMG. I have hardly dealt with them, but compared to the other co's I have found that they don't appear to give a sh!t - they never confirmed my consultation, didn't send me anything in the mail, and didn't reply when I contacted them to cancel that consultation. It was like I had to do all the work just to see them, whereas the other co's emailed & texted to confirm appoints, sent me info in the mail and followed up after I had consults... |

sorry to hear that the surgery center had such a bad service, its terrible because its not like you go to a spa,its a medical procedure and you pay a lot of money for,i would write them a letter, tell also your surgeon. hope you have a safe and quick recovery, tititita. |

Yeah, I'm going to send a very strongly worded letter to the head office....won't expect to hear anything from them though haha!! I am just very relieved that the surgeon did an exceptional job....if that had gone wrong too, I probably would have had a nervous breakdown or something!! A few of my friends used Transform....better support and advice. xx
